This is absolutely one of the best hiking shoes I’ve ever worn. It took me 5 tries to finally find the perfect hiking shoes. I tried it today on my 5 mile hike and I was surprised how good they felt without being broken in. I think I’ll definitely buy a second pair in a different color. The trail we were on were so rocky and I was afraid these shoes would not provide good support and they did. I love the appearance. They are bit as thick and rough as other hiking boots I’ve seen. They are true to size. Normally I wear a 8.5 wide but this brand did not have 8.5 wide so I took a gamble and went with the 8.5, and they are perfect. If you are looking for the perfect hiking shoes and you have wide feet, these are the ones. Highly recommend. And the price was right too. These we were on sale too. Not sure about water resistance as I’ve not yet walked in the rain with them. I’ll update when I do. ... show more

Ok, truthfully these hikers are fuddy duddy😆. Like some shoes your 80 yr old neighbor wears. The laces are very cheap and plain. I know it’s something you can change out but for 170 bucks why should you have to? So aesthetics aside, the boot itself is more of a hiking bootie. So so very light. They seemed comfy and supportive. Perfect for travel hikers. I returned them because of the look. I know, very vain but I was going on a hiking trip and wanted some cool new hikers. Design flaw in the heel sole- wide flare causes tripping hazard. If your heels hit, you will trip. See their picture. The insert is thin and provides no support or comfort. For the price- Keen should have done better. I changed the insert. Otherwise- comfortable out of the box, only minimally larger than stated size, lightweight. More like a high top athletic shoe. Probably will not buy this shoe again but keeping this pair. ... show more

These shoes feel REALLY GOOD with my orthopedic insoles in them. They ARE lightweight. I bought them for a beach trip in 2 weeks. I hope they aren’t too hot. The appearance is very feminine, compared to the Keen shoes I usually buy. They fit really well and they have the Keen wide toe box!

    • Perfect hiking shoes that are absolutely unbreathable

I’ve now purchased and returned 4 pairs of hiking shoes. The other shoes were returned because they had major design flaws like an inward pitch, making loud noises when the fabric moves etc. These have none of those flaws. I am returning these despite absolutely loving everything about the fit and quality because of one small but major reason: they do not breathe. At ALL. I thought I had finally found the right hiking shoes! They felt so comfortable, supportive, put a bounce in my step….but then I went outside on a 65 degree day to run errands in them. I was out for about an hour and a half in mild weather. My feet became so hot and sweaty that all I could think about was getting home to rip these things off. I understand that a certain degree of waterproof or water resistant material needs to be used in hiking shoes. But this is the equivalent of walking around in full on rain boots. That is about how breathable they are which is to say not at all. On my way home I got in the car, put the AC on full blast and vented it to the floor. I could not even feel the ice cold air being blown out at full blast at my feet. They might be great for cold weather hiking but I’m generally wearing winter hiking boots for that. I bought these for year round use which does require them to be at least better than rubber boots. This one flaw makes them so uncomfortable that I am making yet another return. They remind me of Oboz that I bought many years ago. Those were waterproof and I thought in order to have protection against water you had to put up with an unbreathable shoe. That is not the case as I have Merrell Moab’s that are water resistant yet super light and breathable. I tried to save money and ended up buying and returning 4 pairs of hiking shoes because not a single one of them matched the comfort and breathable nature of my Moab’s. I guess I expected them to be breathable since they are a sneaker style design. If you buy these, just be aware your feet will not be damp from water getting in, they’ll just be damp from the moisture of your feet not being able to get out of the shoe. Clammy and uncomfortable. The shoe was great but I personally can’t stand sitting in clammy socks and shoes that don’t breathe. Yet another return. So so close to being the perfect hiking shoe….but I’m not paying this much to sit in my own foot sweat. ... show more
