This is my fourth pair of this shoe model, so obviously I like this shoe a lot - the most comfortable walking/hiking boot I've ever worn. However, the shoe laces that come with them will eventually cut through the fabric loops through which they are threaded. This happened to my first two pair and I had a shoe repair shop install grommets in place of those fabric loops. Not only were the grommets rather ugly, but they also conflicted with the way the shoe tightens around the foot. For my third pair I replaced the supplied shoe laces with a thick parachute cord which did not cut the loops. Now with this fourth pair, I'll again need to replace the shoe laces. Has no one complained about this to the company? I thought by this time the shoe laces might be different but they're still too thin. (The supplied laces appear thicker than they are: the supplied laces contain an inner thin cord that is shrouded by a loose covering that makes them appear thicker, but the thin inner cord is what cuts the loops).

Whatever you want to call these: shoes or boots, they are excellent. They fit really snug for the first few days, as most boots do, but then break in nicely. I live and work in these things and really put them to the test-- they last about two years or so before my wife prods me to buy replacements. My only complaint on this pair is with the laces, which feel cheap and flimsy compared to my last pair. Not a big deal really-- if these laces fail, replacements are inexpensive and easy to find. Great boots! Or shoes. Whichever~

The day my old keens blew a hole, I started looked for another pair--these are the best boots EVER. I am not kind to my boots, I work on the farm hike, get them wet, and they take this beating for at least 2 years. I am a woman with usually size 10-11. I had ordered a womans' style in 11 but they were too short, my toes hit the end. I have wide feet so went with a mens in 10.5, and altho a 10 would've done me well also, this extra room is nice for wool socks. they look nice too and I live in my keens.

I want to start by saying these boots are light weight and comfortable, which is the reason I've given 2 stars. I have been wearing these boots for just shy of 5 months. I wear them about 5 days a week. The first 2-3 months I was rotating them every other day with another pair of boots though so the usage is not a true 5 months. In the last few weeks the sole/tread of the boots have started separating and coming apart. I currently have 3 places on these boots glued back together in hopes of getting a little more use out of them to at least try to justify what I paid. In years past I have paid similar prices for different brand boots and have gotten 12+ months of use out of them under the same wear conditions. I wanted a lighter boot and got it but quality was sacrificed. I will continue my search for a quality, lighter boot with a brand other then Keen.

All I've heard for years is how great Keens are. I bosught a pair for Christmas and have given them pretty light wear and I'm losing a lug on the side. I've worn a competitor brand for years and never had this happen. I'm so disappointed because Ive only used them on one short hike. They are really comfortable. Now I have to decide if I trust this brand moving forward. I was more excited about these boots than any shoe I've bought in years. :(

Bought this pair with unsure of the fit for my fiancé. Convinced that this style was too small, I quickly requested an exchange - half size up. As he tried them both on, the first pair just “looked small” but in fact, they did fit. So I kept both pairs.
