  • Durand 2 is much smaller than the keens of the past.
Size: 8 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
The size 8W in the Durand 2 is about the same size as my 7M gypsum 2 Keens. After finally finding the right size, they are very comfortable and most importantly, they don't get my feet hot. I have a condition that makes my feet feel excessively hot, so when buying new shoes, I look through as many reviews as I can find, to see how many people mention hot feet, which is why I thought it was important to mention it in my review. Size Many reviewers said to go a half size up so I first tried 7.5W, but the wide width was non-existent. Surprisingly there was a significant difference in only a half a size; the 8W was significantly larger all around, I can fit 2 pairs of orthodontics. If you are a long-time Keen wearer like I am, you need to order a full size up from the Keens you wore in the past. Also, because the Keens medium used to be very wide, if you want the same width, you should order the wide width, because the Durand 2's are extremely narrow. ... show more

  • lasts for long time
Size: 12 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
as a multi piece leather boot, stitching stays together for a long time. the back of the boot support did not last as long as the leather stitching. the bottom the the boots has shown very little wear ever

  • Different fit to Durand1
Size: 10 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
We’ve had Durand 1 for a number of years and are looking to replace it with something similar. Whereas the 2 fitted just fine be aware this is not the same animal! The overall fit was quite comfortable but I noticed the toe box on these wide boots is not as wide and feels more snug. The deciding factor in returning them was the stiffness of the inner dog ear of the tongue - where the tongue is attached to the medial wall of the boot. It was just too stiff and dug into the anterior aspect of my inner ankle, more on the right than the left. Quite different to the 1, which has been soft from the get-go. Would have loved to keep them - especially at that sale price - but not worth the discomfort. ... show more

  • Waterproof, Durable, and comfortable shoe
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
This hiking boot is waterproof, durable and comfortable. Some say they are waterproof but my feet would still get wet. Some were waterproof but not comfortable. This hiking boot has it all. The sole is very tough and durable. I wear these boots every day.

  • Quality product, but run small
Size: 10 Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
Quality seems decent. But they run small. Order 1.5 size larger to fit.

  • Good Outdoor Boots
Size: 14 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
These are great boots for outdoor recreation. They run a little smaller than Merrell boots which are also great. I wear a 13W in most brands but I had to go up a size with Keen in order to be able to wear midweight wool socks in cooler weather. They are lightweight, comfortable, relatively durable for most outdoor recreational activities and they sport a nice wide toe box for those of us with Fred Flintstone feet. The tread is moderately aggressive and they have good traction on hard, wet surfaces. The Keen dry waterproofing works well but I wouldn't go wading through a creek in these boots. As with most other boot brands, I had to replace the insoles with Dr. Scholes gel insoles, but I have foot problems that require less aggressive arch support and more padding. I really like these boots for outdoor recreation, which is their intended purpose, but I wouldn't depend on them as heavy-duty work boots. I was clearing some brush in wet conditions and I ripped a hole in the gum boots that I was wearing so I had to finish the job wearing these Keen boots. I tried to be careful of where I stepped but I ended up ripping the stitching on the inside arch of my right foot. This isn't really a knock against Keen's quality because these boots are not made to be heavy duty work boots but I have to rate the boots based on their performance according to the use I put my boots to. I patched the hole with super glue then covered it over with "shoe goo" as a temporary fix. These boots are quite expensive compared to some other brands so I'm hesitant to spend good money on boots that can only be used recreationally. I may get another pair if I can find them on sale but I would only wear them for their intended purpose and not for rough work boots. As outdoor recreation boots I would rate them a 5 out of 5 stars. As work boots I would rate them 2 out of 5 stars based on the kinds of work I do. I spit the difference and gave the boots a 3 out of five star rating but I wouldn't let that deter you from buying a pair if you plan on using these boots recreationally or for work that doesn't require a high level of durability. The soles are still holding together which is more than I can say for the Danners I wore for a little over a year. They are little on the expensive side compared to some other top brands but these are US made and the glue holding to the soles together seem to be of higher quality than other overseas made boots I've worn in the past. ... show more

  • Disappointing customer service
Size: 13 Color: Cascade Brown/Gargoyle
These are my first Keen boots--they will probably be my last. The boots seem fine but the laces are way too short. As tight as I can get the boots and the laces are barely long enough to tie. I usually like to double tie hiking boots so I don't half to retie while out in the field--that will be impossible with these laces. I assumed that the wrong length laces were installed so I contacted Keen customer service. I was told that those are the right laces and sent links to where I can buy longer laces. That is ridiculous. They might be the right size laces for a size 8 boot but not for the size 13 I ordered. I am planning on returning the boots and will try to find some other ones that are hopefully assembled properly or at least where the company cares about their customers. ... show more
