  • So far I really like it!
Color: Seat Saver
So far so good! I've only had it a few weeks, but use it almost daily. It hasn't slipped, and keeps my saddle in place as well as provides a nice cushion for my pony. He doesn't need a riser or correctional pad, so I have the all over thickness one. I use it with my Marcel Toulouse 16.5 close contact Anise saddle (sp?) Its a bit long on the sides, but I don't want to cut it so I'm fine with that. I did just do a schooling show with a contoured pad that I've only used once (gotta keep those show pads nice! lol) and I decided to put the gel pad directly on the horse with the pad over it to "hide" the excess black gel from under my saddle. During my quick day before test ride with this set up, it worked fine, however, the next day, with a 3 hour very sweaty session, the gel pad didn't move from my horses back, but the saddle pad did end up bunching up underneath the back end of my saddle, and the pad did slide forward a bit... so I recommend using it on top of the pad as is described in the description. It's held up very well so far that way with no slippage. I've accidentally dropped it in bedding, and it is pretty sticky as others have mentioned so it will pick up the hair and shavings, etc... I just dipped mine in a soapy bucket when I bathed my horse and it came clean and I layed it to air dry and feels like it did when I took it out of the package brand new again. I've gotten several compliments already on it from people at my barn, and now they want one ;-) I told them where to go! Edited after reading, forgot to mention if my saddle didn't give it away that I ride huntseat. In Florida...;-) ... show more

  • The front riser pad has been perfect for my aging mule’s back
Color: Front Riser
I’ve had the front riser pad for over two years now and I love it. Since I use it as a bridge pad, the front padded areas fit right into the hollowed areas behind my 27 year old mule’s shoulders. This caused the pad to stick out past the rounded skirt of my western endurance saddle. The pad came with an creased area across the back to allow for trimming which was easily done with scissors and the pad fit perfectly within the rear skirt. I recently road for four days in the mountains and my saddle did not slip and my mule’s back wasn’t sore. As recommended, I place the gel pad over top of my thin saddle blanket and everything stays in place, even after a five hour ride. I have a custom made saddle for my mule but after 15 years I took it and mule back to saddle maker to verify the new gel pad placement was correct for my mule’s aging back. The saddle maker liked the gel pad a lot and wanted more information about it. I’ve kept the pad inside my trailer year around stored on a round PVC pipe so I’m not sure if the construction had changed since I purchased mine in early 2017 but there has been no tearing or disintegration like others have mentioned. I’ve considered purchasing another pad just in case something happens to this one but I’m concerned the quality may not be the same now. I’ll keep watching the reviews. ... show more

  • FANTASTIC PAD! We even put this pad on several ...
Color: Seat Saver
I ordered this pad in a quest to find something other than my $275 custom half pad that would fit my saddle and all the horses I ride. I have used this on a variety of horses from a Gypsy, TBs, and many warmbloods of various size and shape. This pad fit all of them well and my saddle never moved an inch. We have a few very wide flat backed warmbloods that my saddle would shift from side to side on but not with this pad. I loaned my pad out to a few riders in the barn to try as well and everybody had the same thoughts, FANTASTIC PAD! We even put this pad on several ponies and all the kids loved it. I have since ordered a second pad and plan to order a third. People in my barn have also ordered this pad and rave about it. We ride Hunter/Jumpers and have used it on saddles ranging in size from 15" to 18". It does show a bit under the small saddles. The care of the pad is easy, wipe it off with a damp cloth, or hose it off, even dunk it in a water bucket. My first pad has around 50 rides on it and shows no wear. The only thing that surprised me was the weight of the pad. It does weigh close to 5 pounds. Not complaining about that as it is clearly stated in the product description, I just had not read that before ordering. I hope you enjoy this half pad as much as my barn has. We all have the standard pad with no risers. ... show more

  • Best cushioning and anti-slip pad I have ever owned! Worth the price!
Color: Seat Saver
If I ride without it, I can feel a noticeable difference. I use a Barefoot treeless saddle on a 21 yo KMSH with saddle fit and back issues. With the pad, my saddle has no slippage and my horse moves out freely. Without it, he seems uncomfortable and a little short strided, not to mention that my saddles rolls. I use it between a very thin cotton English type pad and under the fleece of my saddle. He used to become unmanageable from back pain the longer I rode. Happy horse, happy rides! WE LOVE IT! It feels gooey, but that is not a problem. It never leaves any residue and if you drop it in the dirt, just gently hose off. It always stays put, never working its way out as other pads have done. Will purchase again if it ever wears out. Looks like new after a year of use. Be kind to it and you can't go wrong! I take great care in storage and gentle handling. I always store it in a cardboard box out of sunlight between uses. Best cushion pad I have ever owned in 30+ years in horses. Buy it! ... show more
