I loved the smell when I was in HI in a gift shop but the gardenia is a little overwhelming for my skin type. Wish it wasn't the case but it's tough to buy perfume that you smell out of a bottle and briefly spray on yourself and hope you like it enough to buy it. I ordered both the Kai bathing bubbles in the original gardenia scent and the rose perfume oil. The perfume oil is amazing and exotic with not only rose notes, but clove, and cedar, and citrus. I love it! The bathing bubbles were an unpleasant smell to me. The gardenia fragrance is not the normal fresh flower gardenia smell and I returned the bubble bath. But, I love the rose scent.
