- Form Shaped By Character: Malene Bjelke created the Character series in collaboration with Kahler, giving each figure a form that grows from the human trait at its centre rather than being imposed upon it. For The Attentive One, that meant a shape that conveys calm presence: someone content to remain where they are, not preparing to be elsewhere.
- Soft Curves Left Unglazed: Shaped from stoneware and left unglazed, this figure has softer, rounder contours than others in the Character series, the texture of the stoneware following curves that feel open and unhurried. It reclines on a wide, low plinth with legs extended forward, the posture of someone settled and at ease.
- Settled Low And Wide: At 5.1 inches tall, 3.3 inches wide, and 9.4 inches deep, this figurine needs more surface space than the height suggests. A surface at least 10 inches deep gives it room to sit without overhang; a longer, clear surface suits it best. To care for it, wipe with a damp cloth and use felt pads on polished surfaces.
