Used them for our party punch. Our guests love the punch and it was so easy to make with fruit punch, orange juice, and ginger ale, and about 8 of those Orange Slices. By themself they don't taste the best, but work well in the mixed drinks and punches. Recommend.

I've had dried oranges once before, but they left much to be desired. I certainly wasn't in any hurry to try them again any time soon. However, these appeared on my screen and since they were a different seller source, I decided to give this dried fruit with a name that's also a color name, its chance to shine. Before I continue, everyone should know I'm highly qualified in the field of eating dried fruits. I've had decades of 'in the mouth' experience, from consumer retail to my own entrepreneurial DIY supplies, so I know dried produce well, and even my tastebuds agree with this statement. Throughout that illustrious dried fruit career, I couldn't recall ever meeting a dried fruit that I didn't instantly want more of, except for those first dehydrated oranges I tried some time ago. Hence my hesitations were high when I decided to request trying this different brand. To sau I had low expectations would, at the very least, be a good understatement. Well, turns out I'm glad I let these have their chance, because they are pretty much what I would expect with dried oranges. They have a soft and moist texture that actually can be chewed and enjoyed. They shread apart like wet orange slices, just without all the wetness, of course. These also have a ripe, orangey flavor, that's sweet and tangy in the genuine and naturalist sense. These oranges are definitely a far cry from the over dried, hardened, staled to a crisp, spoiled sour taste, and terribly bitter mouthful of yucky that those first dried oranges had been. I couldn't even get myself to finish a single slice, let alone the bag of them. With all that being said, these oranges are worth trying again sometime, but I might just stick with the more standard dried fruits, I think they're more consistent from batch to batch than dried oranges have been for me. If every order had the quality of this order, and Amazon didn't have the no return policy even when food is bad, then I'd be inclined. I'm just 1 for 2 so far and those are terrible odds if ever there were. Hopefully, your odds are luckier, and all your batches are good like this batch was for me. Best wishes and thank you.

I ordered these dehydrated orange slices after trip to Europe, when I sampled "winter tea" with honey, spices, and citrus added. I thought these would be an easy option--and while nothing is quite the same as having a fresh slice of orange, these KachiKachi 1-can Dried Orange Slices are probably the next best thing, and a whole lot easier for travel, storing, and actual use. Each time I unscrew the lid (after taking off the sealed foil/paper cover at first use) there is a burst of orange scent. I throw one in the bottom of a teacup with tea and some spices, then pour in the water and steep as normal. They rehydrate in the amount of time it takes the tea to steep, and I nibbled on one after use and it was definitely still edible. I would not personally waste these on potpourri or crafts, but they do have a great scent and are also way more portable (and quick to use) than a whole orange. Definitely recommend.

I tried two. Hubby tried one. These are horrible

Once I got the VERY tightly sealed container open - I seriously considered just chopping it open with an axe before saner minds prevailed - I was greeted with a wonderful strong aroma of oranges. These simply smell fantastic. I could just sit here and smell these for hours on end, they just have such an orangey orange smell. But mostly, I bought these to use in hot tea. I've never been a fan of lemon in tea, but I adore orange in tea. Fresh oranges (at least here in the USA) just don't taste very orangey anymore (I sure hope the orange growers industry can find a cure for the greening problem they're fighting) and just keep getting more and more expensive. Never having used dehydrated oranges before, I decided to order these and give them a try. They are simply lovely to use in my hot tea. I haven't tried them for any other use yet, so I can't comment on how they would work for potpourri or baking or anything else, but I love them in my hot tea. I find I can reuse one slice for three or four pots of tea before the orange flavor seems to disappear, so for me, these are a good value.
