  • Soooo much quicker, easier and more effective than snow chains!
Size: Medium - Pro
The snow was so thick and constant that I had to fit my snowchains to my front wheel drive Toyota Camry. They took over an hour to fit but were effective; however they were so fiddly, that my car threw one in the first few minutes, which I refitted, taking another half an hour. It threw again when I was on the road and I never found it. So I bought these snow socks on 24 hour delivery. I immediately fitted one to the wheel without the snow chain (it took 2 minutes to fit) and so I had one snow chain and one snow sock. The snow sock was as good as the chain in deep snow and slush, but worked so much better on packed ice and clear road, and I couldn't hear it. Whilst the snow chain rumbled and vibrated. I quickly removed the snow chain and fitted the other snow sock and I have never looked back. These things are fantastic. I can remove them easily and quickly for freeway travel then refit them just as easily for snowy road travel. They have a handy storage bag, so I just throw them in the footwell and use them as I need them; no mess. Needless to say my second snow chain went into the dumpster. These work well under braking and gentle acceleration. They stay where they're put and don't drift under cornering or braking. Road noise is very minimal. I love them and fully recommend them. ... show more

  • Outperformed everything! Big SNOW
Size: Large - Pro
Massive snow in Colorado! Tried some of the high-end SNOW assistive devices that ratchet onto your wheels , they’re supposed to be almost as good as chains. At least I could move around with them, but they still slid and slipped like crazy. It has been snowing straight for several hours now, and has gotten pretty deep. Put on my brand new k&k snow socks to try to help my stranded neighbor out and… holy smokes! These things are amazing! I had to drive several miles to pick up my stranded neighbor, and passed two four-wheel-drive jeeps, three top-of-the-line 4X4 pick up trucks, one brand new bronco, and four cars completely stuck. I drove around everyone with ease in my Front Wheel drive Kia Nero. Had a guy in the parking lot, trying to put his heavy chains on his pick up truck because he couldn’t drive without sliding asking me where I got those crazy tire socks. I know they’ll probably give out after a while since they’re fabric based but they ARE strong and good quality. I would recommend not peeling out too much or they’ll break down faster. These are truly amazing. Highly recommend. Very easy to put on with the tires. Turned One Direction, just back up a couple of feet, and put on her on the rest of the way… and you’re ready. ... show more

  • Works, unsure about durability
Size: Large - Pro
So I bought these after watching a few videos. And seeing my buddy make it out of a snow storm in mammoth in a Honda civic. Put these on my Mazda 3 to go up to Tahoe in decent conditions. FELT GREAT. easy on easy off. I’m just not sure how many uses I can get out of them. Probably good to have in emergencies but not for frequent use. Will update after a few more uses. ... show more

  • Super disappointed at this product
Size: XLarge - Pro
I live in Southern California. Really excited to use this for a snow trip after seeing the reviews. I really didn't want to use chains/cables to my suv because of the potential risk of damaging something in the vehicle so seeing this option worked out for me. First off the pros, It came in a nice bag. Also, it really was very easy to install (took about 5 mins) and Caltrans accepted it as a legal traction device. Now for the bad stuff. I probably drove with it on for about 10 miles in snowy conditions. Followed the instructions in the bag to a T. The fastest I drove on it was probably 15mph and was letting everyone else pass me. Right when I got to the hotel, I wanted to take it off right away for washing like the instructions said, to prevent freezing. Taking it out is much more difficult because it adheres to the shape og the tire so it requires a lot of force to pull out. Also takes longer if it's really cold, even when using the gloves they provide. Taking one side off took maybe 15 minutes. After taking the first one out I went to the second one and it was ripped and pulling it off made it worse. The whole thing ended up ripping in half. I washed both with warm water and both were extremely frayed and the other one had a hole in it. This is just my first (and obviously last) time using it. Ended up buying chains anyway. Not sure if I recommend anyone getting this but Socal got a lot of snow this week so if really snowy conditions caused this much damage, I'm not sure how it will do when it's slushy ice/mud that you drive these on. ... show more

  • Excellent choice
Size: Medium - Pro
I bought these because I am just tired of dealing with chains. I have chains in the car, just in case these do not work. I over complicated on installing them the first time, so don’t be like me. After I thought of just putting it on like a sock, it went right over. The first time I stopped a few times to make sure they were on correct and were not rubbing etc. I did not have any issues with them on. I felt very confident in their use. They performed amazingly. I had to drive on them over 50miles one way over snow, ice, and even bare road. When I took them off.. I thought I would see tears- nothing. They look amazing, and am excited about them. I used a wipe to clean them off, and will wash them when the snow season is over. Living in the Pacific Northwest, we have to be ready for anything. I will definitely keep buying these ones. I did a lot of research, and the original Auto Socks just seems to tear up when used- some dude even had them on his Tesla on the back, and these ones on the front. The other ones had ripped when went onto the gravel. Great product and well worth the money! ... show more

  • Color me impressed
Size: XLarge - Pro
I was super skeptical about these but we just went to Tahoe last week. Chains were required heading over the summit. 5 mins to install. It was snowing the whole time. We have a FWD RAV4. They work really well. We keep them on till we got to the resort.
