The threads are M14 x 2, not the 1/2-20 listed in the description. The threaded portion is also 0.550 inch in diameter - larger than the 1/2 inch non-treaded portion. You will need a 21mm wrench for the nuts. These would work fine with the supplied plate, but for my application, I had to make numerous mods to my rear axle and shock mount plate with a die grinder to make them fit. Otherwise they are good and beefy U-Bolts. Edit: After I posted this review, the seller corrected the description, so I upped my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. Based on another reviewer that had the threads strip while torquing, I swapped the provided nuts for longer M14 coupling nuts to spread the torque load over more threads. ... show more

My only disappointment was they came with lock washers, that is a violation of dot code and WILL fail a inspection, but just replace those with grade 8 flat washers and then you are good

This is a set of U bolts and brackets to hold a trailer axle. I am always needing heavy duty U bolts for use on my tractor and equipment so that's why I ordered these. They look great and are heavy duty.

Many different uses! I installed this kit on the tongue of my trailer to use as a hook for a tie down strap to the bow. Nice and tight now! Keeps the boat bow very sturdy as well. Materials are high grade and hardware (nuts and washers) are great quality as well!
