    • They just dont work for my use. Individual words are just hard to recognize.
Maybe for music it would have been OK....but I mostly watch DVDs and this apparently is geared for something else. The conversation(words) come out in a low monotone and no matter how intently I listen, I just do not recognize the individual words....after a sentence, I am trying to figure out what was said... I have had JVC earphones before and found the quality to be very good....maybe I just picked the wrong item for my use. They are stuck in a drawer...while I use the old ones... ... show more

The headphones response is originally quite unbalanced with a lot of bass and mid-bass and more or less no mids. Thinking to tune a little bit the audio response by adding some damping foam inside the cups, I took apart the headphones and I discovered the drivers are vented and they have holed magnets. That gives a quite wide chance to control the speakers response. The manufacturer kept the speaker back venting port widely open, and according to the literature, that can produce a boomy output, with disruptive interference in the midrange: I've greatly improved the audio performance by closing the venting port with a self-adhesive felt pad (for furnitures..): in this way the bass output is more balanced. Next after some more audio tests I've controlled the back emission of the speakers making use of some foam applied to the back and the inner walls of the cups. Now the response is much more linear, with good more controlled bass and a quite transparent mids and highs, very enjoyable and not fatiguing. So, if you like DIY, with less than 20 bucks and less than one hour of funny cut-and-paste, you will have a very lovely listening tool.     • The JVC HA-RX330s are an exceptional choice in my opinion.
I am enjoying the JVC RX330. I wanted a good set of headphones to enjoy my music and I found one here. I was encouraged to purchase these from a YouTube video that evaluated some of the best headphones available. For the price I believe that I made an excellent choice.
