Based on the reviews I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was. Took me maybe 15min. Fun, but tough to justify the $20 price tag.

It’s more about your kid enjoying the experience of Minecraft mining in real life or close as its can be, my son enjoyed fun lil activity but the pickaxe that comes with won’t finish the job, so i gave him a lil tack hammer & watched over him. Then he has a lil collectible memento. Makes a mess though so make you are somewhere easily can sweep up. ... show more

Takes a long time. If you or your kid are impatient people, this is not for you. Even soaking it in water and it was taking hours. We ended up going outside and smashing it on the floor (Which was a lot of fun actually). We got a rubber creeper.

I never complain, but I bought this toy for my 7 year old son that LOVES Minecraft anything! Anyways, I thought it would be perfect for him cause he could do a little “mining” himself! Somehow he managed to pinch his finger using the mining tool and even after following the instructions, scrapping and digging was not working at all! So his daddy did have to use a more powerful tool to get to the center! I did buy another one but my son will not touch it! His daddy had to break into it too, and it is extremely messy! I really think the age group should be much higher. The toy is not fun for my son either, because it is just a figurine and does nothing!     • Fun But Time Consuming
My sons 7 and we soaked it as intended..... yea this thing is like a solid clay brick and you trying to carve at it with a plastic "pickax" aint happening. We let him have his fun for a bit till he got tired of trying to "mine" it soo........we just chucked it at the ground till it split and we could get the figure. (7 year olds can be pretty impatient lol) figurine inside is about the same size as other figurines you can get out of say the Minecraft dungeon mystery box's. Nothing really special about it other then the fact you get to sit around for 5 hours trying to carve out a figurine from a solid clay block.     • Too hard to open
My 12 and 8 year old children begged me for this toy. I got them each one as a treat for the end of the school year. Oh my gosh, it too forever for them to get them open. We even soaked them over night. It definitely kept them busy but they lost interest and I ended up chiseling them open for them just to be done making a wet mess. I wish they were just a bit easier to get open. ... show more
