    • Update after 2 cars didn't work
Updated: First car I got, none of the cars battery operated parts worked on the actual car, while the drill and key fob worked, even with the same batteries. I was sent a new one after speaking to Amazon support about it. Same exact issue as I had with the first car. Now, the update is that I was using all of my brand new, and freshly charged, Amazon brand rechargeable AA batteries. I got some non-rechargable batteries, and that did the trick! So, either (or both) the batteries from Amazon are crap (I have had issues with them not holding charges) or rechargeable batteries are not compatible with this toy. I'm not sure which is the case at this point. Now that it is working, I believe it is a good toy and my son loves it. Other than the battery issues, there are a few things that drop this down to a 4 star. One being that the hood braces are garbage. They are difficult for me to get both into the slots and stay, and even harder for my 3yo. They are flimsy and also they should be longer as the hood hits my sons head when he tries to stand and use the car. The other minor change that would make this a bit better, in my opinion, would be bolts that are a tad bit shorter. They are quite long and it takes a while for a little toddler to get them in all the way and it is frustrating for the younger kids. It's not a huge deal, but something I feel noteworthy along with the other issues. Oh, and the stickers aren't the best either. One of them peeled off within a day, and the rest occasionally start peeling. This is a good toy for any kid obsessed with cars, mechanics, or tinkering. This is a fun toy and a good learning tool for any kids that like engines. I think it is a little too hard for a 3 yr old. My grandson is 4 and has been around engines, so he was okay with understanding how things work.
