I purchased this JRL 0.47'' 12mm x 10'' 255mm Axle Shaft not for it’s intended purpose, but I was using it as a gauge for a prototype project. I was needing to know if a certain size steel shaft would be the correct fit without having to buy, measure, and cut a specific length of that size shaft just to see if it would work. I scanned Amazon for any round metal object or type of elongated shaft of a certain diameter in size that I could use instead of having to use the method mentioned. Luckily, I came upon this JRL Steel Axel Shaft. I found that it was available in the length and diameter that I was looking for. Long story short, I was able to order and receive this axel shaft in no time and for a fraction of the cost of just one length of a steel shaft. This JRL Steel Axel Shaft made it easily possible for me to test the size and determine if it would best work for my project. And, as a bonus, I was also able to use this same Axel Shaft as a spindle in my floor standing drill press — all I had to do was cut the hex head off the end. I used the “axel” this way to cut short lengths of different ID tubing with — which these pieces of tubing were also part of my project. I had already engineered a horizontal cutting gig with adjustable blade depth for my drill press, so the rest was easy. This JRL Axel Shaft turned out to be just another unexpected purchase that worked out perfectly. The quality of these rods was as expected and each had a decent finish. This Axel Shaft was also within the expected tolerances of size and overall length. I have found many more uses for this JRL Axel Shaft!

I liked it because it was straight and it worked for my dirt bike after I've been to first axle

Product seems solid. However, I asked the seller if the axle would be correct for a 2014 Honda grom because my axle threads stripped out. This axle bolt is not the correct length for the grom but seems to be the same as an ssr 125 one.
