My baby got her bottom teeth a little early at 5 months. She does not like letting me try to brush them, but when I give her this toothbrush, she likes to use it on her own. Her little thumb fits perfectly in the hole to help her grasp it. I model what I want her to do while singing Raffi’s “brush your teeth” song, and she loves it! It’s part of our bedtime routine now. I originally gave her a standard grip baby toothbrush, but she kept jamming it too far in her mouth and gagging herself. The design of this brush is very thoughtful. It is wide enough for a baby to grip it and not push it too far down their throat, since it won’t fit in their mouth farther. It also has a textured handle for grip and also for teething if you want to use it that way. Overall a great starter toothbrush to get baby engaged with this important part of hygiene.

I bought the Jordan Step 1 Green Clean Toddler Toothbrush, and while the quality is fine, the oval shape just didn’t do the job for us. My toddler wasn’t very interested in using it, and I found the shape a bit awkward for getting a good clean. It’s an okay product overall, but I think we’ll be trying something else next time to find a better fit.
