This cover fits our 14’ Jon boat with enough room to cover the motor as well. The adjustable straps make it easy to get a secure fit. The material is a little thin but does keep out the weather and protect the boat. It’s also simple to put on and take off. Overall, this affordably priced waterproof cover does a good job protecting our boat from the weather.

This Che Yi Bao Jon Boat Cover 14ft 420D Marine Grade turned out to be a disappointment. I bought a prior boat cover of a different type - admittedly for slightly more money - and it tore to shreds within 6 months of outdoor exposure, and was also not actually waterproof. So I needed a replacement. I was aware that paying less than $40 for a quality boat cover seemed unlikely - but this is an even poorer value for the money than expected. For only slightly less, this is substantially thinner than my prior one, but makes far more claims. To call something "extremely durable," and "thicker material," "industrial grade," and then have it show up thinner than a cheap tarp, but thicker than a garbage bag, with just low level straps and plastic buckles... the description was really misleading, and made this sound far more substantial than it is. This does not appear like it will be durable at all. I could have bought a tarp that is fully plastic and thus definitely 100% waterproof with no wondering, that is much thicker than this. Plus, let's be honest, I don't see why someone would want a black boat tarp - especially for a jon boat. It is going to make the boat surface, and any contents stored inside, exceptionally hot to touch and get into. I am not removing stars for that, because I was aware it was black - but at least my last one was gray/reflective material. The boat is stored outside in hot conditions. I want to be able to yank the cover off and push off, without delay... and most jon boats are metal, so black would make it scorching hot to touch. My prior cover also had much better straps - and those straps did last, although the cover itself didn't. At bare minimum I will have to double this up with something else... maybe a cheap plastic tarp tied underneath it, to try to ensure it doesn't get shredded with the first heavy rains and strong winds, and risk my boat filling with water which is such a mess to have to fix. I live in an area with high UV, and heavy storms, and so durability and high quality really matter. I did know I wasn't going to get something for nothing. But this set really doesn't seem worth it to me to purchase, compared with other products on the market that are more heavy duty. I will certainly come back to update this, and increase the rating if in fact over time this performs far better than it looks like it will. But I'm required to give a review in under 30 days, and there is no time to test it over years as a boat cover should be. Anything can last a few weeks. The real test of any product, is how it performs outside of the return window.
