This remote controlled car is so cute and super simple! The only two buttons are to either go forward (straight) or back up (which also turns at the same time). It works well on flat surfaces (ie. wood, tile, or laminate floors) but doesn't work well on our carpet. The headlights light up blue when the car is moving. The media could not be loaded. The JollyFun Brand is a great brand. We have an ambulance by them (a fancier model than the car). The ambulance is outstanding. This car is alright for a toddler - or a little dog, like my dog, who loves to chase and bite this thing (see video). We get a lot of laughs from this. Pros: - Super cute! I love the "aggressive" anthropomorphic eyes, and bright, shinyness! - Super cool! There's a "gas cap" that you can press for three realistic, sporty-sounding racer sounds. And the headlights light up blue. It looks awesome. - Durable and uncomplicated - you can crash this into anything - it's gonna hold up! Cons: - It's not too fast. Especially on a tile floor (haven't tried it on carpet - maybe it would be better). But more importantly, does a toddler's first remote control car need to be so fast? No... - Only goes forward and then turns (tightly) as it backs up. I mean - this is sufficient. And uncomplicated. It's enough for a toddler. - If it gets more than 12 feet from the controller, it stops. Also, if you don't point the controller at the car, or if something gets in between the controller and the car (like another person or a chair or something), the car stops. I guess this is fine... a toddler can crawl or walk closer to the car and it will go. It might even add entertainment value for a small person... or make them think about how things work. - The Amazon description says it's "musical". It does not play music. I mean, I honestly don't think that's a bad thing - does everything need to play annoying music these days? I like that it doesn't play music - but it's not as advertised. I love this thing. Like I said, it's really fun to play with my dog with it. I'm sure my toddler nieces and nephew would also go wild for it. But I need to keep it for the pup. ... show more

I got this little car for my almost 10 month old son who is crawling and on the verge of learning to walk. This car takes 5 AA batteries altogether, 3 in the car and 2 in the remote. The car is painted a bright, pretty red with bright blue rims and blue headlights that light up. It is fairly easy to use but for my son, I controlled the car and he just chased it around. The remote is only 3 buttons, on/off, forward, and turnaround, and if you roll your thumb around on the turn button, the car will turn or spin around easily. When using the remote, you must make sure it is facing the car at all times in order for it to work. There is a button on the car you push to turn it on and it also makes sounds and the lights light up. The quality of the car seems decent and not cheaply made, and the size is just right for a little one. My son, husband, and myself have had loads of fun with this car. ... show more

My toddler absolutely loves this car! His older brother has a remote-control car that is way too big and complicated for him to use. But he loves being able to use the simple remote with only 3 buttons, on/off, forward and turnaround. Do yourself a favor and get rechargeable batteries your toddler isn't going to want to stop playing with it and it takes 5 battery's total 3 in the car and 2 in the remote. But I just can't. The best thing this car has going for it, is that my toddler thinks it looks like a certain animated car from a certain franchise. It has 3-4 different sounds that are activated with a button on the car - but they are short and require activation over and over again if you want the sound (not a bad thing if you don't want it playing music all the time... and probably the second best thing about the car). It's light weight and won't go on carpet and sides pretty heavily on the hardwood, which does kinda look cool in an almost "wipe out " kind of way. The range for the remote isn't very far and probably the worst thing other than not being able to traverse carpet (rugs). Three out of five is the best I can offer with this one. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The car is cute and durable. My 2-year-old and puppy have put it to the test over & OVER. It lights up, and has different sound effects. It’s fun for us adults to drive too! Easy unwrap & set-up, maybe 5 minutes total.

It's a cute little remote control car. Smaller than I expected, but perfect for toddlers. I wouldn't go much older than 3 or 4 for a toy like this, because older kids might not appreciate it as much.

This car is so much fun. It is easy to use, and makes him feel like a big kid. The light and sound feature is fun. You do need 5 batteries, that is the down side. But all in all it was a big hit.
