  • Big bang for the buck.
Color: Blue Size: 64feet
Really good rope for the asking price. This is a pretty nice 'static' rope designed for static loads up to 12KN (2700lbs) and comes with a pair of gloves (that are too small for my hands) and 2 carabiners rated for 25KN. By 'static', I mean there is almost no stretch so if you take a long fall and this is what is holding you up, you are in for a very sudden stop when the rope becomes taut. Ouch! I'm an avid climber (rock) and have been doing it for fun and exercise for many years so I know a thing or two about what works and what doesnt as well as what is safe or not. There are a few things I noticed I should comment on. The loops on the ends of the rope have plastic eyelets but I would have prefered to see metal eyelets there - for all the obvious reasons. I have no idea what is under that shrink tube or how the rope is secured to itself to make the loop. I will absolutely be attaching a couple of metal rope clamps on each end for added safety. The carabiners easily slip through the loop and should work well. The rope is rather stiff and heavy which isn't a bad thing but you should know that this is not 'supple' and will be very difficult to tie a knot into. While I think this is a good rope for doing things like roof work, tree trimming or maybe tying yourself to a tree stand for hunting. I would not use it for rock climbing. This will be fine for short falls but for long falls - not so much. For comparison, in the pictures you can see one of my (name brand) Pro climbing/rappelling ropes that is only 10.2mm in diameter, 120 feet long and is rated for 7000lbs ($550). It is very supple and easy to tie knots into. This is not a 'static' line and will stretch as much as 25% to soften the shock of falling ... assuming the rope stops you before you hit the ground. Not really a fair comparison but I wanted to let you see the difference between the two. Bottom line? If you stay within the limits of this rope's capabilities - it will serve you well. ... show more

  • Super thick, wouldn't trust my life to it though
Color: Black Size: 32feet
This rope doesn't seem to have an actual rating on it, only the word of the manufacturer that it is a climbing rope...YEA...NO!!! It's strong, I've used it for a lot of stuff...but nothing my life depends on! Really wish they wouldn't advertise like that.

  • Made In China
I use this for light tree work, I do not use it to hold me when climbing. If your going to be climbing, buy from a reputable company ie. sterling, blue water, black diamond which will be quality. I would only use this to raise/lower tools and support dropped branches. The other issue I had is it diameter is large and may not fit all traditional mechanical devices. You get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Thick, durable rope for a variety of uses.
Color: Blue Size: 64feet
So far I’ve been pretty happy with this rope. I am using this for a fairly unconventional purpose. I’ve used rope like this before when I’ve been rock climbing or rappelling. I’ll be honest, when my life is on the line, I generally don’t like to trust unknown brands or rope that I’ve not used before especially if it’s going to be up against abrasive surfaces and take some abuse. That being said, I am doing a lot of roofing on a home I am building and I wanted a safety line to keep me from falling 10 feet off the side. This rope was thicker and stiffer than rope I’ve used before for climbing which made it a little hard to work with at times, but I hope that in time it will soften up and be more flexible. However because of that characteristic, it does feel very strong and reliable. The carabiners seemed to be of good quality and were easy to open and close and lock. The loops at the end of the rope were a nice touch and appear sufficiently crimped and durable. It kind of looks like heat shrink tubing. Either way, I did some torture testing and felt good about its ability to hold the loop together. I probably won’t use the gloves though. I have pairs that I like much better and am used to. Overall, I will never be in a situation to come close to the limits this rig can handle so I don’t mind going with an unknown brand for my current purposes. Fingers crossed that I don’t actually find out if this rope really does work. ... show more

  • Excellent Budget Climbing Rope
Color: Yellow Size: 64feet
This rope appears to be a polyester low-stretch kernmantle with three braids. It is sufficient for an arborist and is resistant to abrasion. It is on the heavy side for carrying on a trail.

  • Good rope, but I need to know what is under the yellow heat shrink wrap before I trust the 'bight'
Color: Yellow Size: 64feet
JIUXQT Climbing Rope I have looked at other safety ropes on Amazon and some have a plastic eye in the bight like this one, and others are metal. Intuitively I would prefer metal believing it to be stronger, but I confess I am not a rope expert so I do not know if there is a benefit to plastic over metal. Secondly, other safety ropes seem to be stitched together at the bight around the plastic eye, they are then covered with clear plastic heat shrink so you can see the stitching. There is no mention in the seller's listing if this rope is stitched but if it is you cannot tell as the plastic shrink is opaque yellow. I personally would like to know what is going on under the shrink wrap before I could trust this as a safety rope. The shrink wrap look and feels exactly the same stuff as you would use to heat shrink an electrical connector. I would worry about tear resistance and what would happen if a cut started at an edge, would it shear the whole length? SELLER'S AMAZON LISTING "Our climbing rope can be easily rolled into a roll, and the drawstring bag can be easily carried with you." Not sure if this is an error in the listing or an error in my shipment but my rope did not come with a drawstring bag. REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use. I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product. My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely. ... show more
