They are lightweight, but lined. They filter some light, but not much. They do offer privacy, which I wanted, but I didn’t want blackout drapes. What I like most is I was able to wash and dry them, then iron them and was able to get the wrinkles out! Would I call these designer drapes, no but they look very nice and clean. I bought a second set for my breakfast room. The color is slightly off-white, but not dingy. There’s a very light brown fleck in the material that gives it a linen look. We are so happy with these curtains! I think they are a great dupe for the Pottery Barn version which were going to cost us $550! I bought them on a fluke to save money not expecting them to look so nice! The best part is they allow the sunlight in when closed, but they also give us privacy in the evening because our living room window is pretty large. Last night my husband stood outside while I danced around being silly to test out the privacy factor, and he could not really see me. We hung these in our living room; we have a large sliding glass door that looks over the back yard, and our neighbors could see straight in before. These gave us some privacy. They let some light through, but not over-much. The rod grommets are solid, there's been no fraying or loss of thread at the hems, and they're nice and light. That said, they tend to hold wrinkles. We've tried ironing them, as well as washing them and hanging them to dry on a clothesline, but the wrinkles remain. We can live with it, but be aware. ... show more

I've bought several pairs of Jinchan curtains. I like the light-filtering ones best because they have a higher cotton content so they're easy to care for, just wash and dry on medium, hang. These retain their color and shape well as long as they're not exposed to direct sunlight, like the ones I hung on my back patio 3 years ago, which are only slightly faded. The light-filtering curtains are a bit see-through, which is nice during the day. This year I was trying to better insulate my windows, so bought some more of these in the grommet style after figuring out I could layer them when hanging them so get better insulation and privacy. I love being able to pull just the top layer back to the side curtain hooks during the day so I can see outside and have light come into the house through the 2nd layer of curtains, then drop the 1st layer back down at night for more privacy. ... show more

Good filtering curtains, not heavy. Doesn't block out all the light {that's what I like about these}, but gives some privacy, can see filtered landscape from the inside out. I'm using these for sliding doors and they fit just right. Easily slide open and closed by hand. Nice looking neutral color.
