Off the bat, noticed they were of a very sturdy material. There was extra adapters to make sure they fit properly into the sides of the bars, as well as extra sizes for the mount towards the center of the bar. The flags themselves were a bit loose when i got them, also a bit flimsy but not too too bad. The high quality of the metal material used outweighs the flimsy flags. Very secure overall. Took a bit of extra time to get them even, but hey thats what you get for buying a universal kit. There is a good amount of modularity and different angles you can install them in. For the price, these are hard to beat. Ive had other bikes with name brand bark busters that felt cheaper made than the jfg ones. Took it on a local trail, over jumps, wheelies, you name it. Havent budged a bit. Few branches smacked em, no cracks in the flags and did the job protecting my hands. Granted havent been down with them, but do trust that they will keep their form and protect my levers/hands. Only small complaint I have with them was there was a small gap inbetween where the bars are, and the inserts. Would have prefered them to be completely flush, but not that big of a deal to me. Granted could be user error. Lol. I do run shorty levers. Could see some people having some fitment issues with full levers (can always slide them in though)

Installed on KLX 300r. Quality is very good. Sturdy and rigid. Mounting hardware is good as well. No directions included. Used these in past on other bikes. Price is cheap compared to a good set of levers. From what I experienced these function just as well as the more expensive units. They look good as well.

Bolted right up to the DLX. Seem strong thankfully I have had to use them but seem like they should get the job done. No instructions but it's pretty stright forward. Add a nice look to the bike as well.

Good hardware is important. It comes with weak screws that strip easy. Good guards, bad screws, mine rusted after the first time seeing water. Stainless steel would be good.

When I first purchased these I was excited that I was getting hand guards for a fraction of the price of the bigger brands. The first red flag was the quality of the bolts. Right away even upon using the correct sized Allen key they were quick to start burring up the heads. I thought that maybe they could be aluminum bolts and later confirmed they were steel once they started to rust a week later despite the bike never getting wet. The second red flag was that no matter how I set them up I couldn't get them to fully tighten (with a moderate amount of force I could get them to rotate on the bars). "Oh well" I thought to myself. At least they would protect my levers if I dropped the bike right? Well today it happened. I dropped my bike while stationary in my dirt and muddy driveway. These guards bent right away to the point where I couldn't actuate the lever without taking them off (which meant continuing to destroy the bolt head) and even bent up the end of my brake lever. If these things got destroyed after dropping a light dual sport bike into soft mud, I shudder to think of what might happen if they hit something even barely substantial. Save your money and buy yourself extra levers, or go ahead and pay for real handguards. If you drop your bike it'll be way more difficult to take these off on the trail so you can get home than it would be to just bend the levers back.

Mounted on a duel purpose bike lifan KPX 250. The bikes have a weight insert preventing them from being mounted flush. They hang out about 12mm further than intended but are holding up well.
