First time using fake skin. I’ve been using grapefruits, but wanted to do a a full design. It’s a bit hard to get the ink to deposit. But overall I like it. I did have to go over the lines twice because the needle I had was not good. It’s pretty thick, so you can tell if you go too deep. Helps to learn to keep a consistent hand though. ... show more

So first off, I'm just starting out and this is my personal experience. (I use a rotary w 3.5mm stroke btw.) Thin - fine if you're just noodling around, but getting a proper sense of depth without going all the way through it is difficult, I ended up using a second one as a backing pad so I wouldn't ruin a needle if I accidentally went too deep. No stretch - again, maybe not a big deal for you, but it may ingrain bad habits Taking ink - so these are working fine with Dynamic brand black, but some colors, white being the worst, really don't want to pack or shade smoothly. Thinking it may be me or the ink (Millennium Moms), I tried it on some Reelskin that I got as a comparison and no problems at all, packs nice, shading blends well. So my verdict, these are fine for starting out and such, but you may think you're doing something wrong when actually the fake skin is fighting you, or ingrain bad habits. In my case I will be spending the money on the better stuff from now on. ... show more

This is my 3rd Practice and the skin works really good if you are gentle, no like the silicone type. This is more rubber. And it will rip if you go too deep or go to fast. Great for practicing depht. Ps. If you have trouble removing stencil as i did at the beginning 😅 Apply bleach and let it seat for couple or several hours it will remove it for sure. ... show more

This fake skin is actually SUPER nice to work with for the price. I actually prefer this to the Frankenskin my fiancé had gotten me to practice tattooing with years ago!! Holds the ink well and is easy to wipe away on without smudging too badly. I found washing it with soap and water after your design is done on it helps!! Overall it’s a great product and I’m happy to say I’d definitely buy more if and when the time comes that I need it!! ... show more

I've only just started tattooing the last couple of weeks. (I should mention that I do not plan to tattoo other people's real skin...ever.) I may eventually do some of my own since tat costs have skyrocketed & I can no longer afford to pay another artist but I'm like a year or more away from doing even myself. I was buying the cheap skins here on Amazon and they were God awful! Constant snagging, stencils smeared, wouldn't hold ink well etc. I saw another person say to try JConley skins and so I ordered some. Omg the difference is night & day!! These skins are amazing! The needle(s) glide right along, stencils do not smear and they take ink (even the cheap stuff not ever meant to be used on human skin!) I highly recommend. Like I said I just started learning, I'm 51 so I got a shaky hand but it's a fun hobby. Get these skins if you are having issues with other inexpensive skins. ... show more
