I got this for my JBL ultimate and I own a total of 4 now. Connecting them is seamless and easy and the extra lights really add a lot to any party / ambiance. only "downside" is that they only last a few hours on a full charge. Good news is that they can still connect and communicate with each other and the speaker even if they are plugged in. I will say that while 2 is cool I feel as if you need 4 to really make it stand out. Once you have 4 it gives you the stage mode option and that's where these really start to shine. 4 can get pricey so I will say this. 2 if you are just hooking it up somewhere in your house / occasional backyard party. 4 If you are hosting a larger get together at a medium sized venue. The media could not be loaded. This thing is very bright and the music detection algorithm works quite well and provides a lot of variety. The APP is also very helpful in setting the look that you want without a lot of hassle. The lights connect to the phone quickly every time. Depending on the size of the room you might want to get two or more. I got one at first but thought it wasn't doing enough in my space. Two cover a lot more area and provide plenty of light. I would also recommend using a fog machine with these for maximum effect. The white light beams are really neat and create some cool patterns wherever they hit, but they really shine with some fog. They are also designed very nicely and don't have the industrial "best kept of sight" most other party lights have. Most party lights look like they belong in the rafters or trussing of a club environment, not out next to your nice furniture. JBL should also make these in white so they fit into more decor options. ... show more

Kinda cool. It needs a much bigger battery, though. But if you can plug them in, you're good to go. I got 2 lightsticks along with a set of JBL Encore Essential 2 Party Box speakers and was able to connect all the lights (sticks + speakers) with auracast. Note that if you set up the speakers as a stereo pair the lightsticks don't seem able to sync with the lights on the speakers - just with each other. Only syncs with the speakers through auracast, which is unfortunate. If you don't mind the sticks doing their own thing while speakers do their own, then not a big deal. ... show more

The don’t work with the PartyBox 710! You have to use the built in mic to get them to kinda work with the 710. Even then, it’s sad to say the least.

    • Okay for small spaces, but lacks versatility and value.
The JBL PARTYLIGHT Beam is a compact, well-built light that uses 110V power and connects easily to the JBL app and Party speakers. However, its brightness is weak, patterns are limited, and the microphone struggles unless near speakers. Fine for small indoor use, but for the price, look elsewhere.
