  • worst taro mochi ive ever had.
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
this isnt the first time ive had taro mochi. taro is a root that can be made sweet or salty. the taro mochi is a pale purple out side and the filling is normally a deeper color purple. when opening the box everything looks fine but upon opening the plastic case you get hit with a very harsh smell that i cant describe and you can even taste it. i would go with a different brand. the package i received does not have the taro smell or even taste. the filling is a pale yellow not the normal deep purple. i would do with a different brand. and the seller shouldn't bother with this brand ever again. and why would the sales page have one pic then on the order details have another box, and then you can see that the mochi in my hand like i said is a pale yellow. not sure what the brand it up to. so i repeat " find a different brand to eat." ... show more

  • No thanks
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've tried three of the Royal Family brand mochi; red bean, green tea, taro. I can't say I'm a fan of any of them, but red bean is an experiment I'd try again. This one is starch-city. People say it's nutty-tasting. I taste off-potatoes thick with starch. It smells off, it tastes off, and I guess whether you like it or not depends on your own personal taste buds. I'm not a picky person. I can appreciate different types of food. Save for this. What you receive is nothing near as pretty as the picture on the box, and I can NOT say it's edible. I rate it 2 because it's still an interesting experience in itself, as unpleasant as it is ... show more

  • I LOVE these mochi!
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I LOVE Royal Family taro mochi! It's my favorite flavor mochi so far. I bought a mixed bag of mini-mochi from my local Asian market but it was very different than the mochi I purchased from Amazon. The mini ones were made by Royal Family, as well, but the texture was firmer and the flavor wasn't as pleasant. I wonder if the mini ones are machine-made and the larger ones are hand-made... They just weren't the same so I came back on Amazon and gladly paid more to get the higher quality, fresher, larger mochi. ... show more

  • It's okay! Wouldn't buy again though
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
As someone who LOVES mochi and the flavor Taro, I just didn't feel too great eating this. Felt like I was eating something that was expired? You know when you smell something and your brain just tells you to throw it away, yeah.. I could only eat 1.5 of these and threw the rest away. I always eat everything, so that's saying something. haha! ... show more

  • Wildly excited to staggering disappointed
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The first time I bought these, I liked how they weren't too sweet, and had a nice, chewy texture. So I bought them again, now a few months later, and upon opening them and eating one, I find that they have the texture of a rubber tire. They seem to lack the light powder coating these usually have and look like they were sweating in the packaging. I opened my other box and it's doing the same thing. Will be looking into a refund. 2 stars instead of 1 because the product is actually good if it arrives correctly. Edit: Seller was courteous and responsive. The apologized and sent a refund. Giving a star back to make it 3/5, because the customer service of Cyber Urban Market is just that good. ... show more

  • ive never had it before
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
i usually hate rice and it makes me sick but this was fine no problems! it was soft and moist and great this process makes it much different then normal rice the taro was a slight flavor which mochi takes on the characteristics of so next time ill try something stronger. if you don't like the smell don't worry it tastes nothing like the smell.the package cam in less then a week to and wasn't rotten. Mochi is now one of my favorite pastries. ... show more

  • Not Very Good
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Not at all the "traditional" Taro flavor I've come to expect from other Taro flavored products. Initially I was thinking perhaps his is just a Taro flavor that's less focused on artificial flavors and heavy sweeteners. After reading some of the other reviews, I'm thinking perhaps the flavor just isn't good. The outer layer was quite thick, which was good and bad depending on your preferences. Overall the flavor wasn't great. Not bad, but not great. I won't be buying again. ... show more

  • Not what I expected, my advice? Avoid...
Size: 7.4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've had Taro Mochi before, and while it is definitely a unique taste, and not one for everyone, I can say that I did not care for this. I am not sure if it's the brand, or the ingredients, (which is what I'm leaning towards) but these were more like eating sand stuffed mochi than anything. The Taro paste inside tasted as if I had gotten a spoonful of wet sand, as it was quite gritty, and just had almost no flavor. I will definitely not be ordering this again, though I'm willing to try other flavors from this manufacturer, for now anyway. ... show more
