The boots are nice, and my daughter likes them, but the lace hooks are not very sturdy and two of them broke off on the sixth use of the skates. (My other daughter has the same skates in a different color, and her hooks are bending as well.) We’ll take them to a boot repair shop to replace the hooks, so she can still skate.     • Almost perfect...
They are very pretty and I get a lot of compliments on them...but it I taking a while to break in. I have only worn them 2 times this year. First I could only last 30 minutes and second time just a tad longer. They are made of a very stiff material and it squeezes my heel like no tomorrow... to the point that I can’t skate for too long (causing swelling on the sides of my heel). I like them a lot but I think leather skates might have been more forgiving... if anyone has tips on how I can get these skates to feel better faster, I’m all ears! I would have sent them back and swapped for leather skates, but I threw out the box before I wore them because I loved the way the looked. Maybe once the are fully broken in they won’t hurt soo much. ... show more

This is my first pair of ice skates as I am not from the north. They do not come sharpened, I feel that is something that people should know, especially for those who know nothing about ice skates (me). They do lace up tight around the ankle, which is great since I haven't broken anything yet.
