The skates are beautiful. They look very high quality and fit perfectly however the guards are scented and smell awful! Smells like a cheap fake berry scent. They came in the box with my skates so my skates smell horrible also. I’m hoping it fades quickly. I had to throw the box and the guards outside to let them air out. My 9 year old daughter has worn these skates to one skating lesson and loves them so far. Skated the whole time without complaint, versus in her old skates she was constantly telling me her ankles hurt. These seem like strong, comfortable, supportive skates.
