Male, 18 yrs. First-time figure skater learning in order to physically supplement my rock climbing. I was strongly recommended these skates by my significant other, who has been competitively figure skating skating for 12 years, and they have been marvelous so far. In an industry where quality skates can range over $1000, this affordable beginner pair has strong leather, a sturdy blade, and has given me no noticeable impediments to my performance on the ice as I practice. NOTE: I am writing this from the perspective of an extreme novice at the sport, but from that perspective, I am loving these skates so far. I used the measurement chart to gauge my size, and they fit excellently for me (size 10). The blade is not sharpened, which is normal, but it was easy to take it to the nearest figure skating shop for sharpening and fitting of my blade guards. Highly recommend this for beginner figure skaters -- from myself, my significant other (a "real" figure skater), and from the shop owner who sharpened my blade. ... show more

The gaurds were not included in our package. The skates seem accurate to the description but the thin gaurds for for shipping/packaging were not on the blades either, unsure if this was a returned set that we received.

I’m so excited to try these babies! They arrived before the delivery date by 4 days. They fit true to size 9 and fit perfectly as I’m a 9sz in adidas sneakers especially with some puffier fluffier socks to remain really secure. The blade guards that they arrived in were a bit broken but I believe that was from delivery and the blade was still perfectly fine and sharpened. The skates look great and fit well. I am a men’s 10-10.5 in shoes (foot length from heel to toe is 10 15/16”) and a size 10 in these is perfect. I have not skated with them yet but will update the review when I do. I was however disappointed that the skate guards that were included with the bundle are missing from the package. The pictured skate guards were the reason I decided to go with this seller over the manufacturer. I tried calling the number listed and they aren’t open at this time (it’s a Saturday so not upset at all about that) and the recorded message just said it all needed to be done through Amazon. Amazon only gives the option of returning them. I don’t want to return the skates as they seem great but I will see if any recourse for the missing guards is available in the upcoming week and update the review. ... show more

Although my 9 year old boy’s feet is in between sizes, the skates fit decently well (with thick socks) and still provides good support allowing him to skate comfortably and confidently.
