The day after I purchased this item on AMAZON, and the item had shipped, the price online dropped to $69.00 from $79.00. I'll be happy with a ten-dollar Gift Card thank you as I feel Amazon owes me that much. Why? Well, I chose the coffee color and at the time of purchase the coffee color pricing was ten dollars higher than all the other finishes. The new pricing has put all the colors at the same $69.00 price. Now about the product. I've never been a fan of the "distressed" look. And the Jack & Chris write-up made no mention of a distressed finish, and instead led me to believe I was purchasing a "like new" bag. Only it wasn't "like new". This requires some explanation. I spent a good bit of time after my initial shock had worn off from unwrapping the "distressed" bag from the plastic bag it came in, trying to figure out how the leather on this thing had been treated by the maker to give the effect of aging. ( It looked like it had been on display in a shop window exposed to the sun for several years and then had been dragged through a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" kind of expedition. But I have failed. I have no idea how this was accomplished. However, the leather is substantial and tough and sumptuous all at the same time, yet stiff enough to retain its shape where needed. At first I thought this bag would not hold all I had planned on putting into it. I was wrong. This sucker just swallows what you put into it, and cries out for more. The weight of the bag with contents is around eight pounds right now, with room still in it for additional necessities (like a small aluminum flask filled with red wine). This thing is built like a Sherman tank. Seriously. With industrial-strength zippering. A lot of reviewers have complained about not being able to fit an i-Pad into this bag, but my i-Pad Mini with substantial cover fits very nicely indeed. I won't mention what else I'm carrying, but it's all in there. Bottom line--this bag is a keeper and I'm giving it 5 stars because it hits all the bases for (1) positively amazing utility, (2) quality of construction, and (3) excellence of materials used. I'm even beginning to kind of like the "distressed" look. I could see where it might even be useful in dissuading some potential thief from trying to grab it.. I used to have a fit whenever I bought something that looked "brand new" and then had to endure and curse as it slowly accumulated the inevitable scratches and dents and odd markings of age and use. With this bag I don't have to worry about that anymore. Because it's already been christened and well-broken in before I ever bought it. Bingo. A win-win for this soul.

Great bag. I was at a conference and needed something to be a pocket reliever as I wasn't staying in the host hotel. It was able to carry my iPAD, personal items, and any items that I received. Regardless of other comments I felt the quality of the bag is very good. It's not something I'll use everyday, but will bring it to events and possibly on flights.

I have used this bag for 2 long overseas trips and very satisfied with my choice. I was able to pack a lot of stuff in it such as a compact umbrella, a water bottle, a small book, a pair of spare socks and underwear, a power bank (smartphone battery), a pair of spare eyeglasses, my passport, a small notepad, and tons of little items. It's very critical to me that a travel bag must have enough space for my items as well all the zippers must function smoothly and would not fail. This bag didn't disappoint me. Furthermore, it was able to stand a few short rains and has had not emitted any smell so far. Besides, the leather and design look very decent and not cheap (of course it's made of real leather). I highly recommend it. I also have a "shining" black leather and in fact will buy a third one for backup.

Let me start by saying this bag is perfectly sized and made from quality leather. There are however, some flaws with the zippers. The opening for the larger main compartment should be longer. By this I mean the top should open up more. The compartment is large enough that once a few items are inside you really need to be able to open the top more to effectively use the bag. Combine this with what seem to be cheap zipper quality and well it's not great. They are not smooth and often require using both hands to operate. I want to love this bag but the zippers are definitely the weak point and I do expect trouble from them in future. I am keeping the bag as it really perfect in all other ways. This would be an easy fix and result in a perfect murse ... should Jack &Chris decide to do so.
