Description

At J+S Vision, we're not just in the eyewear business - we're in the business of expanding horizons. We believe: that vision has the power to transform lives. We've spent countless hours researching, testing and perfecting our eyewear to create products that go beyond basic functionality. Our mission is not only to protect your eyes, but to help you break free from limitations and see the world through a lens of endless possibility. Visit the Store Visit the Store With J+S innovative 2 in 1 Blue Blocking Reading Glasses with uniform magnification. You don’t have to give up work or play with our computer glasses Find it hard to fall asleep or have bad quality sleep at night? Get sore and dry eyes after a long day of work/gaming session? Find it hard to focus on the task at hand and feel tired easily? Did you know high energy blue light emitted by electronic devices can disrupt the production of melatonin, the "sleepy" hormone? Keep working and playing on your devices longer without the sore, dry eyes or headaches. Let your eyes stay fresh and healthy. Reduce blue light exposure from digital screen (computers, smart phones, TV's, tablets), as well as fluorescent and LED lighting, even the sun! (100% UV) LCD (low color distortion, top) = designed for general daily usage e.g. <4hrs a day, colour sensitive work (e.g. photoshop, graphics design etc). Best if you want a good level of protection while looking good. HD (heavy duty, bottom)= perfect for extended usage e.g. <8hrs a day, intense gaming sessions, watch a lot movies, or people who do a lot of excel work. It's great if you want the best protection and you don't mind the lens being a bit yellow. Check out our charts above, and comparisons below for stats! Unfortunately it’s not possible - these online tests are designed for orange colored sleep glasses only. Orange glasses work by removing the entire blue spectrum, turning your entire vision orange. Our blue light shield (and computer glasses in general) are designed to block out the most harmful part of the light spectrum and let through the less harmful rays to reduce color distortion so you can see near normal colors. As the high-energy rays blocked are close to UV spectrums, they are barely visible to the naked eyes and it doesn't react visibly with the online tests. We lab test all our products, but if you really want to test yourself, the best way would be to shine a blue laser through the lens. These glasses are non-magnified computer glasses, they are best suited for people with healthy eyes. Our magnified reading glasses are specifically design for middle to old age people with presbyopia (diopter strength range from +1.0 to +3.0). They are great gift ideas for parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who requires reading glasses for their iPads/tablets, computers, TVs etc. For most people these glasses will work right out of the box. For a small number of people it may take a while to get used to them especially if you're not used to wearing glasses before, during this adjusting period you may experience discomfort or headaches. We recommend trying the glasses for a week or two and see if things improves. Also don't forget to take breaks every 20 mins or so, and let your eyes rest in a dark area (if possible) to minimize eyestrain!

  • Really great product
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
The main question is do these actually work to reduce eye strain and headaches? Yes. I did a little bit of research on different brands and decided to go with these because they were straightforward with what the product offered without over-hyping it with needless marketing terms. They are very light-weight but they don't feel like cheap at all. It's an odd kind of plastic that is sturdy and solid and doesn't immediately feel like plastic. They are smooth, flat and what I feel could be considered low-profile. I've worn them for as little as an hour and for as long as eight hours and they are perfectly comfortable. I haven't once noticed any discomfort from wearing them, including while wearing them with circumaural headphones. The headphones fit over them comfortably and I can barely notice I have the glasses on. So if you're worried about discomfort while gaming with headphones, don't be. In the two weeks that I've been using them I have seen a significant reduction in the minor headaches associated with staring at a computer all day. I've also noticed much less eye strain but these don't cure that completely. I also alternated using them one day and not the next and the difference is very noticeable to me. They do help with eye strain while gaming but it's minimal, but enough that I do wear them when I play. The biggest benefit has been using them in normal computer tasks: emails, excel, reading lots of text, etc. My only problem with the glasses is the nose bridge. It's a wide bridge so if you have a narrow or even a medium nose the top of the frame sits very near your line of vision. This wouldn't be a problem if they were reading glasses or if you're tilting your head down to look at a phone, but when you are staring straight at a computer screen they create an annoyance. I constantly find myself tilting my head slightly back so my eyes stare through the center of the lenses which is uncomfortable. I think a great addition to the product might be the inclusion of some slim nose pads that could be applied if needed - I would even pay a little more for that. So now I'm left finding some nose pads to make these glasses fit perfectly. Not the fault of the manufacturer because they are a universal size, but a gripe nonetheless. At the end of the day I consider these glasses money very well spent and I'm kicking myself for not having invested in these a long time ago. They come with a hard protective case and a lens cleaning cloth which is a very nice addition but I think the inclusion of some nose pads would make this a perfect product. They are five stars, 4.5 if Amazon let you rate by half a star. ... show more

  • Save Your Eyes and Buy
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
I game for 6 hours roughly every other day. These glasses have helped me stop getting headaches from long periods of staring at a screen. I also use them at night as well near bedtime. By eliminating the amount of blue light at night, I found myself being able to fall asleep quicker after turning off my computer screen. ... show more

  • Worth the price, cute, light, and does what it says it does.
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
These are pretty cool. I am actually wearing it now. It has helped with my eye strain. I stare at a computer all day at work so I wanted to try a pair of inexpensive computer glasses. These are really light and pretty cute too, makes you look extra hipster and nerdy. Hahaha. My fiance has the Gunnar glasses and he said these are pretty good compared to the Gunnars, they get rid of the blue light in the screen and it's really noticeable. There's a a slight yellow tint to them, which I think helps the blue light in the screen. One thing I don't like is that it has a very very strong glare and it's very reflective. Wish it had anti reflective screen on it. Overall, it's worth it for the price. I'm sure they won't last a lifetime but hey, they were cheap. And it's nice that it came with a hard case and a wipe! It's the little details.. 😁 ... show more

  • LIfe changing!
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
I had been dealing with significant eye strain for years. Nearly everything I did (and currently do) in life revolves around looking at a screen: Watching TV, gaming, researching online, checking email, recording music, and working on digital art. My eyes were paying the price for it, burning and tearing on a regular basis. Then I discovered these, and ever since my life has become significantly more comfortable. My eyes feel relaxed now while looking at screens - I would compare it to the relaxing feeling your eyes feel when wearing sunglasses on a bright sunny day, just on a slightly lesser scale. I wear these glasses during every activity that involves a screen now, and my eye strain is gone. As someone who rarely wore glasses of any kind before this, it took a little getting used to. But soon enough it became normal to me, and now I don't think twice about wearing them. If you're in front of a screen for hours on a daily basis and are bothered by eye strain, I can't recommend these enough. They look good, are comfortable, lightweight, durable, very reasonably priced, and most importantly are extremely effective in reducing eye strain. They also come with a nice durable case, along with a cloth to clean them when necessary. The yellowish tint looking through the glasses is slightly noticeable, but minimal enough to not be a bother. Thank you J+S for this awesome product! ... show more

  • Great Computer Glasses... High Quality for the Price
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
I really like the look of the glasses, they look clear. I like the fact that the yellow tint is not visible to someone viewing a person wearing these glasses. I read quite a bit on my Mac, my Android devices, and tablet (ebooks, work documents, subscribed magazines, etc.) . When I wear the glasses, I feel no eye strain at all as it blocks 90% of blue light. These glasses look good so I am not embarrassed to wear them at work or at a client's office. It also passed the wife test (Whew!). The glasses are comfortable to wear as well; I often forget I am wearing them and wear them hours afterwards. The quality of the glasses are really good despite the low price. Are they as nice as my wife's prescribed glasses and frames that cost hundreds of dollars? No, of course not, but these glasses are great quality for the price and it comes with a quality, sturdy case and microfiber cloth. I advise anyone that has oily skin to purchase glass cleaning wipes in case one accidentally touches the lenses. It takes quite a bit of effort to get fingerprints off of the lenses with the cloth. I think this is due to the coating of the lenses. An overall great purchase and I will be picking up another pair in the future for my siblings. ... show more

  • They work but with 2 glaring problems
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
The glasses work well. I bought these as i work in front of the computer all day and my eyes tend to hurt. I have a decent monitor ( with f.lux) and set up but i still want to protect my eyes as much as possible. I'm sure some of the damage may already be done to my eyes since i been working this way for 10 years now. But these are my first computer glasses with the blue light shield. I definitely feel a difference since i work on a computer. I can't really describe but it's softer on my eyes and easier to focus on things at a distance once i step away from the computer or from my phone. However, there is two issues i have with the glasses. They're very hard to get clean. For some reason they smudge and smear really easy. I have to use window cleaner and microfibre cloth to get it clean and even then i can see specks of dust/cloth fibres clinging to the glass. I have another set of glasses for driving and i can use just about anything to get them very clean but these things are just hard to get clean. The second thing i really don't like is i get a reflection from behind the glass f my eye/face from the window in my office. So i can see a blue tint and parts of my face in the frame unless there is no light behind me. Perhaps that's caused by the the way the frames sit my face but it does get annoying. ... show more

  • Works great and have a comfortable fit. Very pleased!
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
I'll admit I was skeptical about these glasses being effective. There are several different models out there by various sellers and I ultimately decided on the low color distortion glasses. I couldn't be happier! Initially, they made my eyes feel funny (I don't wear glasses normally), but now that I have worn them for a couple days my eyes are fine. They do not change my vision and the colors I see are the same as without the glasses on. Since using these glasses, I have not had any eye strain from my laptop screen, television, or gaming devices. They block blue light exactly as described. The glasses came with a hard case and lens cleaner, both of which are high quality. To top it off, they arrived a couple days ahead of my estimated shipping date, which was awesome. Overall, I give them 5/5 stars for their effectiveness, comfort rating, and quality. ... show more

  • I put them on and made my life ten times more comfortable that day
Color: Haka Rectangle Black - Low Color Distort...
These arrived arrived two days after I placed the order and just after I came home from school. I opened the package up, a small bubble wrap envelope with in it, a wonderous looking black leather case and inside the glasses I just so badly needed. I put them on and made my life ten times more comfortable that day. The glasses serve its purpose, and serve it well. They can be seen blocking and reflecting potentially harmful blue lights should you take a quick pic in front of any monitor (even a smartphone, yes my iPhone kills my eyes just as much as my three monitors). As a high school student with frequent time spent on the computer and on my phone for constant communication and online assignments, I'll say that this helped me with eye fatigue and gained some decent quality sleep. Long periods of gaming are definitely made more comfortable with less squinting to adjust from various colour changes and even prevents me from tearing whenever I blink now. This magical thing is made well; they're light, they're durable, and they have very reliable hinges and open smoothly. They fit well, resting on the nose without any feeling of slipping off (I've got a curved nose). This review agrees with many others, and to be frank, J+S can give Gunnar Optiks a run for their money. As a Gunnar owner as well, I've found that I've spent more time wearing these than I have with my Gunnar Sheadogs which are significantly thinner and feel more prone to breakage. These clean relatively easier than the Gunnars as well. These have been put to use for the past week with around 40 hours worth of computer time. Should you be in need for computer glasses for games or work and don't want to spend too much money for quality, consider this. ... show more
