I use my electric skateboard for commuting on what I think are typical city streets -- that is, they're nowhere near smooth, with rough pavement, cracks, uneven edges, the list goes on. On the stock 90 mm wheels on my board, you can feel everything, and it's even dangerous in some cases and the bumps sometimes cause me to lose my footing or the board to suddenly jerk. I see people on stock wheels ride around the city all the time but I don't know how they do it. Enter Cloudwheels. I have tried 105 and 120mm Cloudwheels on a normal belt drive board, so I was curious how these would compare. This set of Donuts has the normal Cloudwheels for the front with a pair of donuts (e.g. sleeves) on the rear. So how do these feel? These are a marked improvement in ride quality compared to the stock wheels, but it's not as good as the normal Cloudwheels on a belt drive board -- it's great for commuting. I don't notice any less grip, but I don't really ride aggressively. I notice a little less range, but it's also getting cooler so I can't say definitely it's due to these wheels. I don't notice any difference in torque or speed but again, I don't ride aggressively. On smooth surfaces (newly paved roads for example), this does have more noise and a slight vibration from the tread, but smooth roads are so rare I never notice it. The improvement in ride quality is worth the 5 stars, but I do have two complaints -- these are expensive, considering most hub boards are lower-end, these wheels might be 25-30% of the cost of a board. These also only work on a limited number of models, but that is a byproduct of manufacturers not standardizing on the size/format of hub motor sleeves. ... show more

    • Wheel cracked after 50 miles

Crack and the back sleeve appeared after like 30 miles. By fifty it had grown and was starting to make a squeaking sound whenever that part of the wheel hit the ground. I'm by no means an aggressive rider so this shouldn't be happening. This is unfortunate because when they were new they were amazing. Much more comfortable and despite less acceleration and none of that advertised top speed gain, they were great wheels and something i would of recommended had they not cracked so early on. Update: IWonder has sent me a replacement wheel and after similar use to the previous defected on it seems to be holding up well. I added a star for their customer service, they offered me a replacement even though I hadn't asked for one or refund. If durability is a deal-breaker for you then you can knock that off the list. My previous points still stand but the comfort and ability to go through rough terrain is still a highlight. Thanks IWonder, you can expect another purchase once I upgrade to a belt driven system. ... show more

Looks great, a lot lighter than i expected so i’m switching it for a red instead. Pros- Squishy but the ride feels solid makes some road noise which sounds great kinda aggressive sounding. Cons- Colour is a little light much heavier than normal wheels not a significant difference in smoothness but you can still tell a difference. ... show more
