I purchased this scooter as a gift for my 9 yr old. He already had the self propelled scooter and had outgrown that model. I looked at a ton of available options and finally settled on this one. I am happy I did! My son loves it and now so does his cousins male and female :) I was worried at 1st that he would fall a lot while making this switch to motorized but my worries were unfounded. He learned quickly by simply practicing inside our house. By the time we went to the park he was a PRO! It has some really cool features that I really love. 1- The wheels light up when in motion. Helps me to keep an eye on him during the evening hrs in the park. 2- The battery life is decent. We get about 1.5 to 2 hrs of use when we're using it constantly 3- Speed is just right for his age and size. He scoots around and I ride in tandem on my bicycle. Great workout and he keeps up at max speed 4- It looks cool and is lightweight. Not bulky at all. 5- The steering handle detaches and so it'll even fit easily in a big shopping bag 🙂 FYI I cannot speak about using it without the steering handle because we haven't done so as yet. 6- it's functional even on not so smooth terrain. We purchased this scooter for my sons 6th birthday. He had been asking for an electric scooter for months. After much research we settled on this one. We liked that is could transform into an electric skateboard when he got a little older. Needless to say he loves his new scooter. It was and still is his favorite toy. I will say that after only a few months of use the scooter’s electric power would not work. So, I contacted customer service and they have been fast at responding and wonderfully helpful. I bought this for my 7 year old son. He weighs around 50+ pounds and this scooter is perfect, it can go up to close to 10mph but also allows him to brake effectively. We have had it for 4 months and he is learning balance and having so much fun! This scooter has been one of my daughters favorite toys. It does go much faster than her manual scooter or you (which scares me) but she loves it!
