A truly unique barbecue plate that will take center stage at any gathering or special occasion. Use & Care Wash Ironwood Gourmet products in warm, soapy water and thoroughly rinse with clean water. Do not soak. To dry, prop up off of counter to allow all surfaces to air dry evenly. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with Ironwood Butcher Block Oil. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.

I ordered 2 boards at the same time in hope they’d actually send me matching color for the wood. Amazon showed as an error while processing my order, so I had to click buy again. Turned out it went through both times, so I received 2 orders of 2 boards, totaling 4 boards. Color: I’m glad I “bought” 4 boards because 2 of them are close enough in color, but the other two are in different shades. So I kept the 2 that are alike and return the other two. Quality: So far I’ve used both of them once for a steak. They left light knife marks, but it was expected. They washed well, however I’d suggest using butcher bock oil to maintain the wood. I was actually hoping the boards would be thicker than this, but that’s ok. Price: I was born and raised in Thailand. Now I know how much this kind of things usually cost. This one is considered pricey to me. While I understand I shouldn’t expect Thai price because it’s imported to the US, but I think it’s still too pricey for what it is. Overall: I would recommend this board for serving steak as an individual steak plate or even as a stand-alone food display. Also, if you want more than one board make sure to order more than you’d need and return the ones that don’t match in color. Update: 1/21/20 Second use: I used them to display our homemade sushi.     • Cool but warp with every cleaning
Looks good, was very happy with it when we opened the box and used them. However we followed the instructions to clean them after the first use but they warped pretty badly. We rewet them and set some heavy objects on top and the flattened back out overnight. We then oiled them and let it soak in three times and used them again. After a quick rinse in water only, they again warped even though they still had enough cutting board oil to repel most of the water. They are a cool idea but must be to thin or the type of wood used warps too easily. ... show more

    • Don't expect the platters to come eloquently packaged
Gez, for $18.69 a pop, you would think the seller would at least attractively package the item(s). I received four loose trays in a box plus the butcher block oil and two poly bubbles (both of which had deflated before arrival). Even the packaging tape was barely sticking to the box. (I surmise this was picked and packed at an Amazon fulfillment center) It's a good thing I bought the oil . The sales description says apply occasionally. The clean & care directions on the platter say to apply oil after EVERY use. I will say despite the lack of protective packaging, the trays arrived unblemished. I have washed them in warm soapy water, rinsed and pat dried. Once they have throughly dried, I'll wipe down with the oil. ... show more
