I ordered these boots for my son to wear while helping around the yard. He is thrilled with these boots! I tried them on and used them for a while, too. While they are a little large for me, I was surprised by how comfortable and easy to wear they are. QUALITY The boots are very well made. The leather upper is firmly attached to the rubber sole. The leather is very durable and a great quality. The rubber sole is quite thick. It provides comfort to the arch and is also comfortable to walk on - especially on rocky and rough terrain. Since the sole is thicker than most boots we have, it takes a minute to get used to, but it really is nice. The rubber sole also flexes well, which makes the boots even more versatile. SIZE The boots are true-to-size and fit like a glove. There is no pinching or rubbing on the inside. The boots are also easy to get on and off, and lace up easily. COMFORT The boots are really very comfortable. They are lightweight, so you don't feel like you're lugging around bricks all day on your feet. Other boots we've tried need to be worn for a while before they are broken in and comfortable. That is not the case with these boots - instead, they just feel comfortable immediately. I like that. VERSATILE These boots are not only good for working around the yard, they also make very comfortable and stylish everyday wear boots. My son has been wearing the boots to work where he is on his feet all day. He likes these boots so much better than other brands we've tried. Typically my husband prefers tall boots, but he wanted to try short ones. These are comfortable and have worn well. They are also lightweight and easy to put on/take off.

These are great boots! My first time trying Irish Setter, even though I have several pairs of Redwings. These are NOT work boots, as work boots require a defined heel, its a safety thing and often an OSHA requirement. They are build like they could be though!! These are remarkably comfortable, and they look great. They are the kind of boots that will last a lifetime if cared for properly. The insoles are soft and supportive, the uppers are well made and feel great. They even lace up and stay in place like you hope for. They look great with a nice pair of jeans, or even slacks in certain instances. ... show more

They’re comfy and feel flexible which is nice for this style - usually these sort of boots are super rigid. However, they still feel strong. My husband likes them a lot, but we ordered the wide for proper toe box space (he generally goes for barefoot style shoes) and they look a bit clown-like. I’m sure the wide is designed more for overweight men, which he is not. He appreciates the comfort though and the sizing was spot on. The color is very nice and they’re well made. I picked these up for work boots around the house, and in my job as an outdoors photographer in Texas. These boots are very comfortable and durable. I was impressed that these did not need any breaking in time, as they were quite mobile and not stiff right out of the box. The soles are quite comfortable and offer nice support without being too stiff like many boots can be. Hard to go wrong with Irish Setter/Red Wing boots! I wore these for the first time on a trip to Las Vegas and knew I would be doing quite a bit of walking around. First day I got the "new shoe" blister on my heel. Luckily I had a couple thin patches that I could use as protection for the rest of the trip. The thin patches made me forget the blister was even there. I walked more that weekend than I probably had the previous 2 or 3 months combined. When I made it home and took a day to recover my legs were pretty sore from the extra activity(but not once beyond the initial blister day) did my feet complain.
