13W. Perfect fit. No crunched toes or sliding forward foot. No heel slip. No width crunch. Comfort is litterly UNBELEIVABLE. Wore inside, 75 degrees, for 15 minutes walking. Feet stayed a comfortable temp. Went outside in minus 10 degree for one hour. Feet stayed same temp. That's impressive. Very little break in. So worth the money. I've spent so much money trying to get boots that fit and don't hurt, the price for these is so worth it. I'm 65 so I'd say these are lifetime boots for me. These are like my feet are still home in my fleece slippers by the fire. I am so impressed and happy. Happy birthday and Christmas to me. I also bought the 10" uninsulated Irish Setter elk trackers too. I say the same about them too. Excelent. Everything Red Wing, Irish Setter and the reviewers say about these boots is true.

Wow!!! These are like wearing an Abrams Tank on each foot, and I'm not exaggerating either. I always wanted a pair of boots like this, Overbuilt and Tough as steel. These boots are made with extremely high quality materials and the workmanship is excellent too. I have narrow feet that always slide around in most boots, but they finally stay put in these boots because there is so much insulation in them. I ordered a half size larger as recommended by customer reviews and they fit perfect. They are a little on the stiff side but should soften a bit over time, they're serious boots that should last a lifetime whether you're hunting or The Stuff Hits The Fan. I can't say enough about these boots and Highly recommend them.

I purchased a pair of this same boot with 200 grm. insulation 5 years ago from a "Outdoor Supply Store" and have been very satisfied with the excellent comfort- until last winter- I started to have ingrown nails and was limited by the distance I could hike. I went back to the same store and got fitted for a new pair, at 56 years young, my feet had grown from a size 12 E to a 13 EE- much to my surprise they wanted $58.00 more !! It was in the middle of summer (I had not worn my old pair since winter) I also wanted the 1000 gram of insulation, the salesman said that was going to be an extra $20.00 (total $80.00 more than my original pair)- being in the middle of summer, I put the purchase off. I live in extreme N.E. Wyoming at 4,800 ft. and the winters get down to -40 at times. I also have severe R.A. Knowing that the high quality and wonderful fit of the Irish Setter line of Red Wing Footwear and how well my old ones still are in wonderful shape, I was going to look elsewhere (I live 70 miles from any city with a boot store)- I should not have been surprised to find that Amazon carries ALL of the high quality boots (they carry everything else I need- even the "Sno-seal" I use)- These boots are without a doubt, the best hunting/hiking winter footwear- I do a lot of sub- zero camping on our ranch as well as keep the 2 mile driveway and some times the county road clear- The last thing I need to worry about is "cold feet"- I can't say enough about the very High Quality of "Irish Setter"- use 3 coats of sno- seal (heat the boots before and after applying) and work it into the seams- Thanks Amazon for the speedy shipping and the great price

These boots are well-built and absolutely massive. They're comfortable and fit snugly without any pressure points on my extra wide, relatively flat feet (size 14W). The arch support is present, but not to the point of causing aches. Cushioning is adequate, but not great. They seem to be incredibly warm and hold up well in wet environments, although I haven't had them submerged yet - I'll try to update my review after spending some time in the woods, snow, and water. The boots handle most natural surfaces well, but they're a bit awkward on stairs and can be dicey on sheer surfaces. Get some extra large creepers if you plan on walking around on ice. Note: they are very heavy boots. Not for the faint-legged. [Update 1.2.16] The soles of both boots have begun to crack and separate. The soles are made up of three parts, a bottom, mid, and upper. The uppers are separating from the mid. These boots have hardly been used outdoors save for one season of whitetail hunting. Very disappointed that they are splitting apart already, as I've had these just a little over two months. They're still comfortable and warm, but that won't do me any good if the bottoms aren't intact and start leaking. I will contact Irish Setter customer service and post an update on their response. $200 boots should not split like this after mild use over two months. [Update 1.11.16] I contacted Irish Setter customer service via email. I received a confirmation email telling me that I would get a formal response from a rep within two business days. In my email I requested that they send me a pair of replacement boots, whereas they are currently my only pair of winter boots and I cannot wait several (wintry) weeks for a repair. I also told them that once I received my replacement pair that I would gladly ship them the damaged pair so long as they covered the shipping costs on both ends. I received an email three days later that informed me that I would not only receive a pair of replacement boots, but could also keep the damaged pair if I chose. Needless to say, I am very impressed with their customer service. I received a new pair about 1 week after filing a claim. Couldn't ask for a better outcome. [Update 3/13/26] Be patient with these boots. There was an initial break-in period of 3-6 months, followed by a longer, subtler break-in over the next year or so. The separating of the soles hasn't gotten much worse over the years, so no complaints or worries there. Honestly, these have turned out to be the best boots I've ever owned. Having worn them every fall and winter for 11 years, I can honestly say that they have performed better and lasted longer than any other boot I've worn. Ever. All others have burst at the sides, had the tread scuffed off/split, or both (Keen, Timberland, and Red Wing in EE or H width). My 10+ year old Irish Setter Elk Trackers are still warm, dry, comfortable, and intact. I'm still using the original inserts, as the boot has fully molded to my foot and is incredibly comfortable. To each their own in that regard. Some might prefer replacement inserts. I will say that walking over hard surfaces such as ice or pavement for long distances or for an entire day does tend to bother my legs and lower back a bit, but trekking over dirt or through the woods doesn't bother me at all. The tread does soften over time, but they are still a stiff boot, which impedes a natural walking motion slightly. I could see how some people would want a better insulated boot, but I tend to run hot and have only gotten cold in these a few times. For me, they're almost too warm to wear until temperatures start to dip below 40*F. I would recommend periodically cleaning and applying a sealant to them as they crease and get scuffed. I admit that I have not done a great job at maintaining mine, and yet they still keep my feet warm and dry. After cleaning and thoroughly drying, I'll warm the boots to 100-120 degrees with indirect heat, then apply a sealant. I think I've done this maybe 2-3 times over the years, and intend to do again soon, as they finally began letting some slushy water while ice fishing last weekend. I'm almost certain that they'll be perfect again after a cleaning and resealing, but even if they're not - they're over 10 years old and have treated me very well, and I can't reasonably expect any boot to last forever. That being said, I intend to wear them until they fall apart, which they still seem far from doing. Hopefully I'm still wearing them in 2036 and remember to write another update. I had previously given these boots 4 stars. I would increase that to 4.5 stars, but whereas I can't do halves, 5 stars it is. These boots have more than proven themselves over the last decade or so. I hope that Irish Setter hasn't changed a thing about them over the years, as I would buy them again. The price drop, however, does cause me concern. These were $200 boots when I bought them in 2015, and now I'm seeing them for $150. I hope this is not indicative of the newer versions of these boots somehow being a lesser product. Hats off to Irish Setter if they're offering the same boots I have at a lower price. It's rare to find footwear that lasts a year, let alone ten, so if these new boots are the same as mine, these are a steal at $150. Here's the good: The design of these boots is exceptional. They are comfortable for sitting in cold areas and performed very well while hiking in wet/snowy areas. The stitching is solid, the boots proved to be waterproof, and the materials are of sufficiently high quality. The soles have great traction for snowy woods. The leather was supple out of the box; they needed no break-in period. They're sold by a national chain, so retail stores can provide free test-drives before you buy, local post-sale service or exchanges if something's not quite right when you receive them. Here's the not-so-good: I'm a very average size 9. The boots that I received were normal size 9, but they fit very tight (length was fine, but width cramped my toes even with no socks). The right boot also had a bump in the leather seam on the upper tongue. This rubbed on my shin to the point that it was painful after a few minutes of walking around my living room (socks did not solve the problem). A local Red Wing retail store had me try on another pair exactly like the ones mailed to me; they had the same fit, but did not have the annoying bump in the right boot, so this was a quality control issue (AKA "Made in China"). Size 9 wide ("EE") fit great, with plenty of room across the toes, and a comfortable, snug fit with medium-gauge wool/synthetic blend socks. The retailer did an even exchange on the spot for my boots, with no need for a receipt. Awesome customer service! These boots are 5-star material, especially considering I got them on an insane Black Friday deal. The poor quality was extremely disappointing, but the hassle-free exchange at a brick-and-mortar retailer made for a solid 4-star rating. Very happy with this purchase.

My husband has been wearing these boots for 10 years as his primary foot wear! I was looking for comfortable hiking boots for some time when we decided to order the smallest men’s size for my size 9 women’s feet. The footbed, heel, toe box are uncommonly amazing. The insulation of the boots make them comfortable even at the minus zero Arctic temps here. My husband wears them when it is hot outside too but when it is gets above 80 degrees I opt out for lighter footwear. We use them for some long walks sometimes on cement and this is not the best use for longevity. If you use them for work and you have to have steel toes, these won’t be acceptable even though the toes are very stiff. They seem to run very true to size. No need to size up. Also, these are made in Vietnam and they do a great job so if you buy them elsewhere you might check that.

Excellent boot! Was recommended to these from a friend I work with. Was a little worried reading other reviews stating that they ran small, but I did not have that experience at all. Right out of the box, a little cozy to foot as you would expect 1000 gram insulation to be, but once you walk around in them for a little bit they form to your foot perfectly. My first experience in them was in the U.P. Of Michigan, a great test for warmth factor since it was -6*F three mornings in a row only got to a high of about 5-7*F thru them on every morning and cold was a non-issue all day everyday. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, plenty warm, even boring old shoveling snow was enjoyable since I was pumped on my new boots. The tread on these are like ice picks, serious traction provided by the tall lugs on the bottom of these, couldn't lose traction if you tried. Easy on & off even with the supportive 12" height. I like the lacing system as well, eyelets on bottom that you can pull tight easily and hooks up the shin for quick easy lacing. BTW- my size boots were on sale $153 for whatever reason, bought them, on flight out to Michigan 3 days later searching around free Amazon online on AA airlines and saw ad they were offering 25% off shoes. Got off plane called Amazon told them about ad I saw, they honored the discount after purchase refunded me an additional $38! $113 delivered, can't beat it !!!
