This book is horribly written. The syntax is awkward and the word choices frequently laughable. It read like a 7th grader with a thesaurus. I made it about half way through it before I just had to stop reading. Aside from the awkwardness of the writing there is a major issue with the content. Many of his discussion deal with manually adjusting the ISO, Exposure, and Aperture (f-stop) setting. NONE OF THIS CAN BE DONE WITH THE IPHONE CAMERA APP; you would have to purchase a 3rd party app to have these features. Additionally, as someone with decades of SLR and DSLR experience I have a solid working knowledge of the "exposure triangle", but if I didn't have this already, there is no way I could have learned it from this book with it's vague descriptions and unusual word choices. I have Scott Kelby's book on iPhone photography and it's one of the best photography books of any type that I have read. THIS is the one to buy. I got for the iPhone 12 pro camera; I'm not sure if he's done a 13 Pro update, but even if not, you'll learn 95% of what you need to know to take really goo iPhone photos (and videos). The specific 13 upgrades can be easily found on line. There is nothing about this book that I can recommend to anyone. ... show more

The camera in this phone is amazing and capable of so much more than ever before if you only know what to do with and how it works. That’s where this book comes in.! It’s informative, interesting, and easy to read with simple to understand directions and explanations. I haven’t explored all the possibilities yet but I look forward to producing the best quality shots and videos in very near future with the help of everything I’ve learned here. ... show more

Over half the book, in very simplistic words, goes over the basics of a camera. The rest covers the iPhone 13 pro max. The author just does not have enough information to present in this otherwise short book. Poorly written and with no index. Do not purchase.

    • Terribly written, bad explanations, waste of time and money.
This is one of the worst written and edited books I have ever bought period. The explanations are useless. Many sentences lack verbs or are confusing, like a very bad translation. Review the sample carefully, but better yet, there are many other options out there. I was in a rush and wish I had taken the time to inspect and compare. ... show more

This book has been ver helpful as I am learning about my phone’s camera. The author gives explanations that are easy to understand. There are also several photos which illustrate certain points. I’m happy with my purchase.
