I bought them for my grandson who is almost 2 years old. I put them in a pop-up tent that has a 5 inch lip. I bought 200 balls and it's a perfect amount of balls. If you are filling a regular ball pit you will definitely need more balls.

I originally bought 200 of these as a Lightning Deal in 2016. They were in excellent shape and provided a lot of opportunity for imaginative play in addition to filling the ball pit. Just recently a red ball transformed into an Angry Bird fighting a Green Ball, identified as a pig, assisted by 3 purple balls that were Space something-or-others, all accomplished with a few strokes of marker and a healthy dose of imagination. I paid 10.99 per 100 in 2016 and was pretty pleased. As the kids get bigger the volume of balls shrinks proportionally so I thought I'd invest in another batch of 100. I had them in the saved section of my cart for months; the price just too high. However the after Christmas party had all the grandkids poking out of our low tide ball pit and I decided to bite the bullet. The price dropped a couple dollars and I bit. This shipment contained a large number of dimpled balls. The 3 yr old balls in my basement show no effects from the passage of time so I can only imagine that the temperatures at which they've been stored allowed the air to expand and contract. My hyper-observant 5 yr old grandson was immediately critical of these flaws. His disapproval was soon forgotten in the fun of dumping the balls into the 5 mo old's ball pit (an infant travel bed). That said it does appear that the current product seems to be a Railroad Salvage kind of situation. In 2016 the balls were sold by Amazon, now it's a 3rd party seller and the same seems true of Walmart. I think the bigger balls have been phased out and the remaining stock sold off to resellers. I bought a small plastic swimming pool to use as a ball pit for our miniature schnauzer. I bought these balls because I felt they were big enough that he wouldn't choke on them. The size is good but if he bites down and pops a hole in them, he can collapse the ball. He then chews it up. So if you have a dog that chews, you should be sure to watch them when playing with these. They are very colorful and this package filled the small pool. ... show more

I ordered one of the best sellers that in addition to this package because I wanted to make sure it was here in time for my nephew’s birthday. The other brand’s were around 2.3 inches in diameter and seemed thin, while these were definitely stronger and a better size. For reference, the little kid in the picture I uploaded is 12 months, so definitely a great size. In fact, they completely filled the inside of the pit with the same number of balls as the other brand. 100% recommended over the 2.3 and 2.7 sizes. ... show more

I’ve bought these balls several times already because my dog absolutely loves them. They are a soft crushable plastic the second she puts her teeth on them. I don’t mind that they crush quickly because she loves them so much

My only real gripe about this product is that these balls are inconsistent in quality - some are made of thicker material than others. But that's not really a problem, for me anyway. These are, whichever way you look at them, thin plastic balls. They will crush, ding, dent or otherwise loose their perfect roundness if you let anything heavier than say, another plastic ball, collide with them. I mean, would you expect an egg to be able to cope with a three year old child jumping on it? No. It's an egg. However! If this distresses you greatly, you can resurrect them by warming them very gently with a hairdryer. Or as I did, leave them next to a heating vent. I placed an order for 1000 of these, they arrived in bags of 100, some rectangular bags, some cylindrical bags. The last 300 arrived loose in two boxes (150 balls a piece). I called the manufacturer and they explained why this may happen... They ship bulk. If a box can be filled with 150 balls, it will cost the same as shipping with a bag of 100 balls and the box 1/3 empty. They use common sense - ship more in a box for the same price and SAVE YOU MONEY. The bags these things ship in are meant to hold plastic balls. They will not hold up well if you choose to constantly pack and unpack them. They will not hold up well if you use them for anything other than storage. I'm thinking I will not want to repack 1000 balls into 10 bags anyway. ... show more

    • Great Fun Balls for Regular Use...

Well, its been a year... These balls were a Christmas gift last year and I can say that over the year, they really held up. We bought them for a pop up tent (loved the tent... you know, the hexagon one) and we used the balls in the basement. In general... PROS... - they are lightweight, so when the kids throw them, no one gets hurt - they are not crushproof. I can easily crush the with my hands...BUT... they do return to shape easily. - they don't seem to break at the seems (we didn't get any broken ones either). - the colors are bright and pretty cheery - great carrying case... that thing has been used over and over this year and it still works... I wasn't expecting that. - nice size... these are pretty big, so they cover a good deal of area. Be careful of the cheaper balls that are sometimes smaller... it will take more balls to fill a space if you get the smaller balls.... CONS - they aren't the same quality as the ones you find in commercial facilities. They are just a bit too thin to be that durable. If your kids are older or bigger, you may want to get balls that are a bit more sturdy. - 100 balls isn't enough. No really... whatever you want to do with these balls, you probably need more... one bag is just never enough. ... show more
