I remember these being close to $400, to get it for $140 is a great deal. 6 P cores and 4 E cores does nicely, it over clocks nicely ( board dependant ) and doesn't get crazy hot. If your building a nice budget gaming rig then this will do the job in spades.

This is a top tier cpu for the price of it. Although it's only a I5 it runs everything I need it to with easy. Even multiple things at once. Not even a stutter. Even runs cooler then my older i7 9700. Paird with a cpu cooler its idle Temps are around 40

I bought 12600KF in NOV 2023 for a new gaming pc with RTX 3080, the CPU can handle the GPU pretty well for all the heavy games without any bottleneck on 1440p. The mother board is ASROCK B660m PRO RS which is a budget mother board and cant handle high wattage CPUs like 13900K, the 12600KF in this built gave very satisfactory benchmarks which you don't need to buy an expensive mother board to get the full performance of this CPU. ... show more

PSA: do not buy if you want to overclock and you plan on using Intel XTU on windows 10! Intel has dropped support for XTU on windows 10 for the 12th and 13th gen models, which i did not know at the time of purchase. Regardless, you may not even need to overclock this processor, it handles games, video editing, and large processing workloads well! I have been enjoying Intel's P/E core technology a lot, my background tasks running nominally, while my games and workloads execute smoothly. Amazing processor for it's price, but its definitely not the fastest. You should buy this as an in-between when building a new computer or when upgrading chipsets, etc. ... show more
