  • Makes the task look simple
I have cabinets coming and what the book says makes me think that I can install them without too much trouble. I missed though, how to install island cabinets. I have a new kitchen area and I'am hoping it is pretty clean. Watch the DVD. It has the missing info and adds a lot to the book.

  • Needs More details
The information included in the book and video is very helpful. The problem is there are so many more aspects of cabinet installation that were not covered. Maybe the book should be re-titled to "beginners guide". Time was spent explaining some very basic things that if you didn't know how to do, you should not be installing your own cabinets. I really needed information on the more complicated aspects like: what to do when you have soffits on the kitchen ceiling, and walls that are out of square, out of plumb, have a wave, and a floor not level, all at the same time. Book was well written and easy to follow, video was well made. ... show more

  • A seriously consise course on how to install your basic set of kitchen cabinets.
Great for the beginner or as a re-fresher course. "Made Simple" is a pretty accurate statement for someone who has some carpentry background and is going to tackle a basic kitchen cabinet install. Everything you learn here will transalte into how to install more complex cabinetry. Worth every penny.

  • Great for the handy Guy or Gal
Just installed some cabinets in the laundry room and this book with DVD are a great place to start an understanding of what is needed to do a cabinet install. PRO DVD is fast and clear Book (same) Book has good detail Great for stick home construction install of cabinets Good comparison of custom and Home Center cabinets (Cost, features) Great Summary On Video .. CON No information for cinder block exterior walls (with fir strips and sheet rock) Some of the details are not shown (off camera magic i.e. Trim work planed) OVERALL We would buy again Great for DYI era learning to redo kitchen cabinets Seems to be written for mid to high level people as many basic home improvement details are left off If you like and read Fine Homebuilding Magazine and do some projects your self (A good find) ... show more

  • Good book.
This is a very good book about installing kitchen cabinets, but it only discusses installing laminated counter tops . It does not go into installing marble, stone, or quartz counter tops, which make me think he book is a bit dated or maybe they think that job should be left to the pros, who knows?
