Yes, the paint is a little wonky and the colors are garish. The whole idea of an inflatable rubber bouncy / rocking horse gave me the hee-bee-dee-bee-gee-bees. However, "Dan the Dangerous Donkey" (as he is now affectionately called) has grown on all of us--especially me. Our 6 year old politely asked for this toy upon completion of her reading curriculum, knowing a party would soon ensue. I was a little dumbfounded as to where to find one of these things, but Amazon did not let me down. This was one or her favorite gifts. Our first hour with Dan commenced with a face-plant into the carpet when our 3 year old tried to ride like the wind. My first thought was, "geez, what have I done?" Several hundred rides later, we've only had minor spills, but so many laughs! Our 6 year old now rides like a professional jockey--jumping over fluffy pillows and other scary things. Sometimes, I have to turn away in horror and other times I'm taking hilarious video. Either way, this toy is surprisingly durable and sure to provide many hair-raising memories. We have the blue one with the magenta hair. Lots of mess-ups in the paint, but he's perfect for us!❤

We bought two. One for our 2 year old and one for her cousin. We really like the product. Easy to inflate, nice colors, fun design. We are just sad that the one we got for our daughter came with a hole in it. Sadly, I cannot return it because it is past the return window.

It didn’t come with a colorful mane like the pictures and it did keep that overwhelming plastic smell for around a week but we haven’t had to add air and it’s been sturdy enough for plat with my 12 month old. Overall I’d buy again.
