Good tamper overall much consistent than a manual tamper but ikape needs to address their quality control My unit had a very rough shaft and was getting caught in the middle while tamping on coffee leaving metal shavings. I will be sending the defective unit for return and getting a new one hoping it's not the same issue again (, will update this review ! ) Great tamper but quality is a a small concern while.purchasing so be active enough to check if the shaft is smooth A diy solution to this is using steal wool or sanding the metal shaft sides slightly as per other reviews suggestions but I think that's not a good idea as you might make the tamp off centered and rattly since it won't be a snug fit

Repeatable pressure: The lip around the tamper ensures that I apply the same amount of pressure every single time, which is crucial for consistent shots. The Bads: Pop-back feature not reliable: While the tamper has a pop-back feature, it only works a small percentage of the time, so I don't rely on it. Limited size options: It would be great if the tamper came in more size options, especially for those who have non-standard size filter baskets. No storage or carrying case: The tamper doesn't come with any storage or carrying case, which would have been helpful to keep it clean and protected when not in use.
