This 3rd brake light works great and looks great (btw, it does not have the F1 flashing feature that some 3rd brake lights have) but the online instructions are pretty bad. It took a bit of research to figure out how to install this because it doesn't include a "plug and play" harness like most of these kinda things. Therefore, you will have to splice into your car's wiring to use this product as is. You can buy those harnesses elsewhere, I believe, but if you wanna install this light without one on a 2022 WRX (my model), here's what you should do: 1: Use a screwdriver to remove the 4 pins on the underside of the bumper to access the back of the removable plastic block that's in the spot you wanna mount the light. If you have a big head, you might need to jack the car up to get under it. I luckily didn't. Use a screwdriver to poke the connections out and remove the block. 2. Push the light into place and use the 2 included pins to mount it to the bumper. 3. Tape up the 3rd brake light's 4 wires every 6 or so inches to make sure they stay together. 4. Remove the right brake light. Left side probably works too but I used the right side. There's a single pin and two screws which will require a screwdriver to remove. You'll likely need to use the screwdriver to disconnect and unplug the brake light wireport as well. 5. Use an unraveled wire coat hanger to thread the wires from the 3rd brake through the paneling of the car to the right brake light port. 6. Splice the right brake light wires to the new brake light wires. The kit comes with some sort of T-plug type connectors, but I cut the car wires and used solder and the taped over it because I thought it would be safer. You can also probably use twist plugs or any other connectors you want. This is the wiring scheme you should use: (3rd brake light wire --> original car wire) - black --> black - red --> brown - green --> green - white --> blue 7. Test your connections before putting the right brake light back on by turning the car on and pushing the brake and putting the car in reverse. Check what the 3rd brake light does as you do so. Make sure that none of the exposed wire is touching any metal paneling when the car is on or else it'll short circuit. 8. Tape over any exposed wire and solder, reassemble everything, and enjoy! ... show more

Great for the price! Direct fit on my 2024 WRX (VB) Sure it’s a little crooked but that’s really only if you pay close attention to detail and get really close in to tell. From standing up looking down it’s not visible. For this plus the plug and play harness for a 22+ model being less than half the cost of the name brands while accomplishing the same exact thing. I can easily over look those simple blemishes. Will update in a few weeks if there’s any changes ... show more

I can't speak for the setup with the included hardware but it doesn't seem terribly difficult, although I purchased the 4 pin rear light harness from SubieBros. It made the entire thing plug-n-play besides having to crimp on the quick connectors onto the wires of this rear light module. Install was easy on my '21 WRX. Just remove 4 rear bumper clips to gain access to the back of the cutout where the light is installed. And remove some clips inside the trunk liner to gain access to the drivers side taillight and to be able to route the wires from this module to the taillight. I am also using the Tail-as-Turn module from Diode Dynamics and it seems to be working fine. I have the rear light harness connected to the taillight housing, then the DD module connected to the other end of the rear light harness and then I connect the OEM harness to the other end of the DD module. All the lights are functioning as intended but the only thing I was told that oddly enough, the outer LEDs flash when my left blinker is on...but not the right blinker...not sure what that's about. Probably something to do with the DD module. Not a big deal for me right now, I may investigate that later. All-in-all, great rear light for the price paid. before you buy this get a plug and play adapter harness, it will make life so much easier. i used a plug and play harness so i didn't have to splice into the factory tail light wires and ruin them, the harness i got was only a 3 wire harness, which didn't include a connection for the reverse light function (the white wire) but i was able to add a quick connection to the harness to make all functions work. i don't think this light blinks when you step on the brake pedal and i'm not sure if there is a way to make it do that but i don't really care for that any ways. the red light is always on as long as the car is running and gets brighter when you press the brake, the reverse light isn't as bright as i expected but its there and works, installing the light unit wasn't very fun because unless you take the bumper off there isn't much room to get your hands where they need to be, the unit fits perfectly. ... show more
