The look of the Znergy meditative light and sound machine is very nice.. however, the buttons make it very hard to use, especially in low light. They are flat, so you aren't really sure what you are pressing also, there is no on/off button which means you can't keep it at the same sound, you always have to cycle through. I decided to return it after my partner tried to turn it on last night and it stressed him out so he couldn't get to sleep... that right there says it all. So, if iHome is listening... change the design. Add an on/off button, raise the buttons higher on the canister so you don't have to pick it up to press the buttons. ... show more

While the product itself works and looks cool it’s just to hard to operate and remember which buttons do what. There is no power button. No labels or signs on the buttons, if you want to change the mode or color you have to tap the button through all the modes or colors to find the one you want. I kept having to pull out the complicated directions every time or get frustrated cycling through all the modes. I quit using it. ... show more

I received this as a Christmas gift from an employee. I turned it on, cycled through the sounds, and found the one that is a sort of zen hum that ebbs and flows. I put it on low, as background noise, and cycled the light options through to the one that slowly changes through all of the colors. It has been on 24/7 ever since, and it is remarkably calming. People generally only come into my office if there's bad news or a stressful situation -- but many comment on how peaceful it feels to be there. When I call their attention to the low background noise made by the Zen Candle, they are stunned by the impact it has on the environment. It seems to lower blood pressure and encourage easier breathing, but you don't realize it's there. I'm ordering a second one for my meditation room at home. If you keep the sound low enough, there is no need to turn it on and off and cycle through the sounds or get out the instructions. It doesn't drown anything out... you don't know it's there. I wanted to be able to move it freely from place to place while traveling but it is not rechargeable. Also it does not have simple USB plug. It has a USA Cord so it's not as convenient for travel. Wish I had known.

I recently purchased this to help me sleep at night. There are some features I do like, the color, shape and size of this are great, I also love the soothing color changing lights and the breathing modes. The speaker is also very crisp and clear. The sounds are not so great, the Zen sound is just too upbeat to put me to sleep and none of the other sounds work for me either, I decided to connect my smart phone and use summer night sounds on it which works wonders to put me to sleep, however, the unit has a very poor timer set up and the longest it will play is 5 hours, so when that stops, I am awake again, very frustrating! Why not make it all night or at least 8 hours, I just don't get it! One more thing, the buttons do not light up so you cannot see what you are pressing at night, they are small and hard to find too. I am now looking for yet another sound machine. ... show more
