    • Tons of fun!
First of all, we are not familiar with the King of Tokyo games, so this was a completely new experience. I played with my 10 year old grandson. It took watching a video and a couple of run throughs to learn the game mechanics, but after that it was smooth sailing. The 10 year old liked all the action, and said it was like playing a video game. Grandma here enjoyed the graphics and all of the different game pieces you get to play with. We especially enjoyed the action, the many facets of the game a player has to keep track of, and the strategic decisions that have to be made with each roll of the dice. I love everything King of Tokyo, and I invited my other King of Tokyo friends to try out the game with me! Imagine our surprise that the game is a cooperative game! Most of the rules are similar to the past King of Tokyo games, but the lose conditions and win conditions are different. Even though we were experienced King of Tokyo players, it took a little while to learn the new rules of this installment. BUT we liked the idea that we can get ANY King of character and play as them on the board! We were able to play with Pumpkin Jack, MegaShark, and Gigazaur!! We did not play with power-up cards. Excited to play this game , looks fun and exciting. King of Tokyo is a blast and I expect the same from King of monster island. When the game arrived my husband thought the red dice were missing but they were hiding under the black dice . Can’t wait to play . 🥰
