The plunger is attached to a plastic insert. The plastic insert turns when you try to screw on the plunger so there is no way to keep them attached. I don't know how many various bronze soap dispensers I have bought, some can't pump soap, some quickly break. I have bought some at higher price points thinking I would get a better unit only to be disappointed. This one is apparently painted with non waterproof paint. I started noticing a brown stain below the dispenser that I initially thought was rust and spilled soap. I clean it up only to have more and more brown goo at the bottom to the point where a day after cleaning it up it's running down into the sink and getting worse by the day. I now know that the brown goo is paint coming off the dispenser. I'm guessing to save a few pennies they painted it with water based paint that dissolves when it gets wet! This may work for a spare bath that rarely gets used but otherwise it won't last. JUNK!!

I bought the soap dispenser and the toothbrush holder. After only 3 months, they both were rusting out like you wouldn't believe. Rust water leaks out the bottom of the soap dispenser daily, oozing yellow stain all over my counter. I tried not gluing the bottom to get a few more weeks of use but it finds ways out. The toothbrush holder stem is completely destroyed, the finish is flaking off in great chunks when I try to clean it and the rust on the inside is impossible. Its disgusting. The product is absolutely worthless. I would like a refund but 3 months is too far past the Amazon window to get one. All I can do is warn you all to avoid this product and save yourselves the gross cleanup and extra expense of replacing it in a meet 12 weeks.

Overall, these dispensers are of inconsistent and generally poor quality. Through the return and replace process I eventually received 11 soap dispensers to get the 5 I originally ordered. The 6 returned were examples of ALL of the issues mentioned in the other negative reviews. In this case, it may have been more convenient to go to the local bed & bath big box and select / mix and match parts etc. to make this purchase.

This is a really simple toothbrush holder, but it’s perfect in my opinion. It’s small enough to save space on your vanity top, it has a solid bottom to catch any water/toothpaste that may drip, and it’s extremely easy to clean. Not only is the whole thing open and easy to wipe down, the stem also unscrews and the top section will separate from the bottom. After fighting to clean a toothbrush holder that was completely closed in, this was extremely satisfying.

I bought this a bit ago (and had it replaced before), and since then the replacement has fully rusted through on the base. There is a pad glued on to the bottom of the dispenser and it has turned into a mold (and fungus?) factory. The rusted base leaks green and black sludge onto the pad which smells terrible. Almost impossible to clean. We live in a dry climate and have good ventilation in the bathroom. Very low quality product. Avoid. I would've included a picture but we threw this out after one two many sludge leaks onto the bathroom counter.

Bought this in August of 2017 and by March of 2019 it was in the garbage. We were continually finding soap on the counter and at first thought the kids must have been just pumping soap out of it. We eventually discovered that it was leaking rusty soap out of bottom, under the non-slip foam. It had been on a shelf and not on the edge of the sink where water would have been the cause of the rusting. There was rust in the soap as we dispensed it. I guess we did get over a year of use out of it so that is why I give it 2 stars; but even though it looked great, I will not buy another one to replace it knowing this could happen again.
