no matter how tight I strap down my boat cover it seems like there is always some ponding after a rain shower. I have used my net, book hook, broom or what ever I had on hand to raise up the cover a little to help prevent it so when I saw this support pole I had to try it out and this will do the job. Pros: 1. light weight and easy to stow and bring out as needed 2. while it is light it is well built and easy to adjust to the height needed 3. has a nice top plate that will prevent accidental rips to the cover cons: 1. I think it would be better if the top plate was permanently attached to the screw on base so it doesn't fall off when putting it in place no big deal I'll probably just glue it on conclusion: this cover support pole will go a long way to help prevent water pooling and worth the price

After picking a support pole up for my pleasure boat it worked so good I picked one of these up for my bass boat. This kit does not come with security straps but you could easily tie it off with several pieces of small rope / cordage. I cover and store my boats inside during the winter months. During the spring / summer I hate when water gets pooled up during these months on rainy days. It makes your boat covers heavy to remove and I had one rip on me that was not cheap. These support poles totally eliminate water pooling and save the life of your boat cover in my opinion. This support is very compact when closed and easily stored on your boat. This model has tripod style fold down legs and a two section, extendable center pole. The kit comes with a round disk shaped topper that displaces the surface area where it comes into contact with your boat cover to keep it from ripping. The center pole has a lot of height adjustment so it is very universal to use on many different types of boats. I wish I would have used these earlier in life they save a lot of headaches and money.

I included a picture of my boat that is clearly in need of a cover support both in the cockpit and in the bow. My storage location is uncovered and, living in Oregon, lots of rain is a fact of life. I like that this iCOVER support is infinitely adjustable between 21”-50”. The three leg stance is much more stable than my other support pole that has a round plastic base (and which has to be lashed to the cleats for additional stability). The top has a nice smooth curvature that spreads the stress point over a wider area. When not in use, the support pole folds up into a very small unit that is easy to store. My only complaint is a cautionary observation that the leg support struts and extension clamps are all plastic. Durability could be an issue down the road. Finally, the iCOVER support pole is very reasonably priced at $20 and, overall, a solid product.

When I first received these I was a bit underwhelmed: they are very light, feel kind of cheap, and honestly seemed like cheap repurposed camera tripod overstock... but I have to say: THEY WORK. They go up nice and easy, can be moved easily, and the little mushroom up top seems to do what it needs to perfectly. For all my complaints about how it felt taking it out of the box, it ticks all the boxes and seems to be a really great solution to the ongoing issue of water and snow pooling up on my covered boat during the winter. I am confident these will hold up and do their job over the winter and keep the inside of my boat nice and dry. And for the price, it's hard to really complain about anything.

These are pretty sturdy for stands that collapse down so compact. The height is lacking, so this fits the bill if there is a little bit of the dip or "bowl" in the tarp. The nice thing is that these are also great for a camera or light stand! This has a 1/4" post that fits most standardized filming equipment. This also comes with a screw-post cover! I love that because if the threads get damaged, it renders this stand unusable. Love that is comes is a two pack since there are usually a few low spots on coverings and tarps. Currently, we are using one at the haystack yard. It works great to keep the water from pooling where it usually does and we can move it around as we use the hay up.

I had a similar set up but the poles were held upright by straps. The tripod design is soooo much better and easier than the straps. So far, they have stayd in place and the water doesn't accumulate. Getting ready for a hurricane here in Florida, we'll see how well they stay in place as it rolls through.

This is study enough for the job. It's a lightweight trips with multiple adjustment points so you can get the height you need. A mushroom style dome provides distribution at the top to protect your cover. I'm using this on a small fishing boat with 2 seats. I had made some supports with PVC pipe, but they were clunky to use. I placed these between the two seats along the ends to tighten the top where I had been fighting pooling. The flimsiest part of it are the plastic spreaders at the bottom of the tripod, but there is not a lot of stress here, so as long as you remember to loosen the screw before closing, you'll be fine. It folds up compactly, so easy to store.

These poles are pretty good. They’re a little flimsier than my other set, but they are still plenty sturdy for the cover. They do fold up and store easier than my other set. The dome top is the best part. It does a great job supporting the cover without creating any stress on the materials unlike the ones that came with my cover. They are easily adjusted for height and stay locked into the height I set them at. Very compact and lightweight when closed up fully which makes them easy to store in the boat.
