They last a few years if you rotate them, don’t trap odors like cotton does, dry quickly after a workout, and breathe wonderfully for both summer and winter wear. No bunching up. Do NOT buy. Bad cut for briefs and stretch extremely after one wash. I have been using breathable, odor free briefs for more than 20 years. They were ideal for my camping and international travel needs. I bought these briefs because of prolonged international travel I started today. Breathable and odor free were key features needed for my trip-profile. Awful choice. Fit Well the First time I “test” wore them. After one wash I am wearing them the second time and they stretched so badly that I had to swap them with my regular briefs at the beginning of my flight. They were that uncomfortable. On the top of the extreme stretch, the cut is wrong - uselessly too-narrow at the bottom. Do not buy! Most expensive of all other options with really bad durability. ... show more

    • Tight fit at a steep price

1st of all, horrible horrible tag design. There's like a gigantic 6 layered tag sewn on the inside of these (one for every language) that give CVS receipts a run for their money. What were they thinking? Luckily for me, the tag can be torn by hand - it's between paper and gaffers tape. You have to press your thumb fingernail on the thread as you begin to tear so that it doesn't pull the thread off with it. Keep following your tearing motion up the thread with your nail and it should be OK. Then work on the sliver end of the tag, gently peeling it away from under the threads. Always keep pressure on the threads or you might ruin the seam. If you're not comfortable removing the tag, it can be tucked against your skin by your hip. With that out of the way, the sizing is a bit smaller than usual. I'm a size Medium / 32" waist and slim build. Even for me these are a tad tighter / smaller than I would like, both in waist compression and groin area. I might have been happier with a size Large. I will attempt to give them a chance to see if they can stretch out a little more, but out of the box, they are pretty tight. The rest of the cut is fine I guess, they are briefs, and I prefer them over boxer shorts for active work. I fell in love with Merino wool recently and it's hard to go back to cotton or what is effectively "plastic" clothing like Polyester. Finding decent briefs in Merino wool is surprisingly difficult - most are in boxer short styles. If you dress "down" so to speak, you will probably not like these - they are too tight when worn that way. As far as how they feel, they are a little "scratchier" than a soft Merino wool t-shirt I own when rubbed with the hand gently. When worn, it isn't noticeable. I'll probably update the review to comment on the performance. I'm primarily interested in the quick drying properties when worn on rainy days or sweating a lot. The front side is double layer and the back is single layer and can be seen through if held up to a light. For the price (80% wool), it's a bit of an investment I'm not sure is worth it yet. ... show more

Just what Jed would say about these. I did not know about merino wool undies until I was in my 60's...40 bucks a pair has this old man poorer but happier. No more clammy damp nether region. God did put our junk on the outside so it could stay cool, but since Man exchanged Kilts for trousers we have paid the price. They last a long time after cotton undies have turned into a saggy stretched out mess and have to be discarded. I checked back on my previous purchases and had bought 18 pair of cotton undies in a similar time period I bought 3 of these - so not so expensive after all. ... show more
