Description

A Monster Bass with Monster Tone Ibanez's SRAS7 is by far one of the most original basses anyone at GearNuts has encountered, and it's one of the coolest we've gotten to play. Coming straight from the concept kitchen of tone that is Ibanez's Bass Workshop, this monster hybrid fretted/fretless bass features seven strings and all the tones you could ask for. The first three strings are fretless and cover the lower register, which is covered again by the SRAS7's top four strings, so you can effortlessly switch playing styles without getting lost on the fingerboard. To make the most of this unique design, Ibanez went with custom Super J Ashula pickups and loaded it with roundwound and flatwound strings. And with its poplar burl top, this is one bizarre bass you'll want to take home. The Ibanez Bass Workshop has done it again For years GearNuts has witnessed the Ibanez Bass

  • Nice Bass
I made some modifications. Overall, it's a nice bass. [Edit]. I wanted to add some information after some time has passed. This bass has quickly become a staple in my live rig. I replaced the pickups with Bartolini classic J Bass pickups (9CBJD1) and I changed the tuning with the fretted side being F# - A and the fretted side being D - C. Playing in a metal band that down tunes, I can still get the lows with that lovely J Bass crunch and I can also do some smooth fretless melodies. It comes closer to matching my Fender J Bass than other basses. ... show more
