  • Great guitar. Poorly packaged.
Color: Pearl White
The guitar arrived on time. Guitar arrived in one cardboard box from guitar manufacturer with little to hardly any styrofoam to keep the guitar from being damaged during transport. The bottom of the box was damaged. Luckily the guitar wasn't damaged. Guitar came properly setup. Really nice guitar from top to bottom. Beautiful white Preal finish, light weight, and thin bridge. Definitely recommend this guitar for beginners to even advanced players. Fells like a professional bass at an unbelievable price........I've purchased several guitars from Amazon and everyone was poorly packaged. Some had to be returned and replaced due to damage. Please double box your guitars and add extra styrofoam. To assure your product arrive safely. Or ship them in a soft guitar case. ... show more

  • great value
Color: Transparent Red
great sounding, inexpensive bass. i am very happy with it, playing it daily. Note: the strings that came with it are junk, and i replaced them immediately with Fender 9050. also comes with adjustment tools which were necessary as the the action needed a lot of adjustment out of the box.

  • May need a setup
Color: Transparent Red
Quite a nice looking instrument. When mine arrived it was untuneable much less playable. There was a back bow to the neck that offered no relief at the frets to most of the way up the neck. Once I adjusted the truss rod, I was able to tune up to a starting point at which time I readjusted until it tuned and played fine. I don't know if it was the weather it went through on it's way to me or it was just horribly setup at the factory. This is my first bass guitar. I've been playing guitar for a long, long time and just couldn't resist getting this bass at the price it was listed at. As I expected there is going to be quite an adjustment to my playing as the lower frets are so far apart and so are the strings but I'm having fun discovering what it's like to play bass. I think for the beginner bass player who doesn't have guitar experience this is a great bass to start with. I find myself looking for the missing strings, especially that third jump between G and B, LOL. Playing guitar for so long has crippled me so far but as I said, I'm having fun. The active equalization really boosts the bass which is welcome considering I crank the treble and midrange up all the way on my amp and mostly keep the tone on the bass all the way up as well. My ear has trouble discerning the really low notes and cranking the tone and treble/midrange on the amp helps quite a bit. I was toying with the idea of trying flatwounds or just new quality strings to see what differences that might make but, overall I can't really fault the instrument as I'm probably the biggest problem the bass itself has. As a side note - my bass didn't come with any adjustment tools. I had a set of metric allen keys so no big deal, but you might want to get a set of your own just in case this is normal for Ibanez. ... show more

  • Disappointed !
Color: Roadster Orange Metallic
Really let down that they sent this guitar out in this shape, it was totally outa of strob as we called it years ago , had to take to guitar center to have them make adjustments to it so it wouldn't fret out total intonation was the worst i have ever seen . , the truss rod had prob , the bridge was outs of wack , . and now i need to replace the nut . This bass is beautiful and will play great when i am finished with the service on it . beside all the probs it looks great , feels great . I was gonna send it back but the return date had passed while i was in the hospital . Pleas look at the guitars before you send them out , don't give Ibeanez a bad name , Please ... show more

  • Had To Convert From 4 to 5
Color: Roadster Orange Metallic
After playing 4 string bass (mostly Fender Precision ) for 50 years bought GRS 5 for transition bass only. I was looking for thinnest neck I could find. The sound of this thing is pretty amazing. I'm using it for recording. Nice rich sound. Thin neck makes it quick. Can go deep or funk thin. Have two other 4 string Ibanez basses and have always been good solid sound. Didn't expect the same because of the low price. Very, very impressed with this instrument. Ibanez is tops and rolls with the times making tweaks and improvements year after year. Can't go wrong on this one! ... show more

  • Impressed!
Color: Pearl White
For this price I was expecting a bass that was in the student category but, I was pleasantly surprised by the action and tone of this bass. The finish is like something much more expensive and it feels good, it plays great!! Ibanez really stepped up their game on this one. Buy it and you'll see for yourself, you'll be impressed too. ... show more

  • The neck comes unadjusted. You can't just tune it and play it
Color: Roadster Orange Metallic
I didn't like the fact that I had to set the guitar neck up. But i figured it out. I like the neck. My first 5 string. Thought it may be too round, but it feels surprisingly comfortable. Love the color and the finish. 30 years of black or dark guitars, something needed changing. And the price was right up my alley. I'll let you know in 6 or 12 months. So far, I like it. ... show more

  • Great bass
Color: Transparent Red
easily one of my favorites out of my “collection”. its very light weight, easy to hold and play. one problem were the pick ups and the strings. the strings were a bit.. gross sounding.. and the pickups were buzzy and wonky. but i do really like the model so i jus replaced the strings and pick ups and that really helped! overall, great bass. really good for beginners as well!! ... show more
