I can now live out my childhood dream and pretend to be a Hibachi Chef. As soon as I put this on I was able to take my flat top spatula and delight all comers with my onion volcano and steaming choo-choo train. Entire families spanning 3 generations are wowed by my culinary showmanship as I simultaneously cut, season, and flawlessly cook 6 different proteins, egg fried rice, and umami-packed vegetables on a searing griddle bigger than a queen sized bed, all entertaining the adults as I confuse and befuddle the children and elderly with my wacky antics. As the applause dies down and the diners take their several bites off their plates of teppanyaki steak, scallops, chicken and shrimp, I sink into a flow state as my muscled forearms and swollen triceps push the hard, perfectly straight edge across the stainless steel of the flat top. Some of the diners are already petitioning the server for to-go boxes. Thick clouds of steam dissipate as I reach up and turn off the hood. An eerie quiet rings out as I bow and thank the diners for their part in this petite opera. As I wheel away my cart they watch me go, wondering if I am Asian, or Hispanic, Filipino, perhaps? I push the cart into the kitchen and head straight out the back door for a quick 5. The humid summer night air hits me and I welcome it, as a contrast to the flat and corporate conditioned atmosphere inside. I hike my apron and pop a squat next to the dumpster. I take a long drag from my vape and settle in. I begin to notice all the individual sounds, the crickets, the traffic, the muted sounds from inside I can even hear a faint, dull buzzing sound coming from the street lamp above my head. It all combines to form a pleasant white noise that catches me off guard. Suddenly overwhelmed by a wave of sleepiness, my eyelids droop and I fall asleep. I awake suddenly; heart pounding. I will update this if anything changes. I got home from work at 230am, i ordered Saturday night and it was delivered Sunday evening. My workplace provides disposable paper hats that are awful and bulky. I got home from work and put it on and it is now about to be 5am and I've been wearing it this whole time. It came in an amazon envelope and in a clear plastic with a bar code. The material feels nice to the touch, better than i expected but along the lines of other reviews. It seemed small but i slipped it on effortlessly (its been a while since I've worn hats but i am somewhere between 7-1/8th and 7-1/4th). It fits snug but not tight. I could do a handstand or ride a roller coaster and it would stay. The top is a nice soft stretchy, almost silky material, the sides feel like the coats and aprons we use at my workplace. I read an amazon review that said the hat covers the top of their ears, if i pull it down it will barely cover the tip of my ears and it will likely slip off during a rush, so no secret earphones. It doesn't interfere with my glasses at all. I have dark brown/black hair and the darkness is shown through the top. I feel like someone could easily rip this but I think most people would have to intentionally pull at it to tear it. That could be a plus if you're like me and tearing clothing relieves your stress. It really just looks and fits like a beanie. Maybe it could be a bit more loose but... Yeah as i pull it off now it was a bit tight, not unbearable but i would prefer something more loose. It hasn't made my head hot but that could change in the kitchen. I ordered 2 of these and 2 of another brand on amazon. I've worn it at work a few days. I forgot it was there most of the time except yesterday when my head was really itchy. ... show more

My wife is from China. I bought this Chef's hat as a gag. She wasn't impressed... Sigh! I thought it was hilarious, so I got my money's worth even if ol' sour puss wasn't impressed! It's well made, and exactly like what I've seen on Chinese Chef's hats for 30 years! I like it!
