I needed a shelf system for my office, mainly to clean up the wireless router and other various home networking equipment and to clean some photos off of my desk. This shelf works great for that purpose. However, when I put the battery backup (UPS) on the bottom shelf, it made sounds like the wood was ready to give way. I laid the UPS on it ever so gently; anticipation grew as if a bomb were to go off but to its credit, it held up. It looks incredible and it's easy to put together if you properly itemize and group together the screws, nuts, and bolts. A tip when assembling, start with the bottom shelf and don't tighten the nuts fully. Lean it against the wall so that the rails sit flat. Tighten the nuts fully. Now, when you add each shelf, you can easily level and tighten and you won't have to go back and loosen them all because the rails don't touch the wall like mine. For the price it’s perfect for a small area that needs a little more storage. Also You can see the hardware on the front, which is kinda ugly but with it decorated your eyes don’t really go to it. Assembly was easy with a power drill, I would imagine it being v difficult without. Much easier with 2 people (save yourself the annoyance of trying to do it yourself and ask someone to help stabilize the boards). Took about 20 minutes to set up after figuring it all out. Picture on Amazon looks alot better than the actual product. Very cheap wood like stamped balsa wood. NO INSTRUCTIONS. All parts were included, but one support piece was missing a drilled hole. I had to pull up the Amazon picture to figure out proper assembly. Being a retired engineer helps me, but others may struggle with construction. I am thinking of spray painting black, the fake wood look again - so cheap. ... show more

I was looking for a not totally expensive but aesthetic bookshelf for my growing book collection. This was very easy to put together, only took me about 20-30 minutes by myself. It’s very lightweight, and easy to move around once it is assembled. With that, however, it isn’t the most sturdy, meaning my 16 pound cat was very disappointed when I told him he could not jump onto it. This shelf looks good and has just enough space for me to comfortably fit my graphic novels. I do wish it was just a little cheaper. I feel like something so light that uses so little material shouldn't be $70. But at least i didn't pay more than $100 I saw some comments about issues with instructions and they are there but they're light and not as clear as ikea instructions. So my advice is when connecting A and B double check that the holes on each piece match. You want to make sure that the big holes are all on one side. And they give you one allen wrench but you kind need two for connecting A and B one to screw in the screw and the other to hold the catch in place. I had a spare allen wrench from ikea so I was fine. When assembling the shelves you want 5 and 4 with most of the shelf facing outward away from the wall. 4 is tricky because the holes are seem to be in the middle. And my final tip which also works for assembling most furniture is to screw everything MOSTLY in and then when all the pieces are together and standing finally tighten them all the way. My shelf is sturdy and not wobbly. And i love it! I might buy another ... show more
