However, it is heavy, doesn’t compress like a normal bottle, so it flows differently… has a air vent hole that squeaks loudly as fluid is drawn out, but works fine. I use this for the gym. Keeps my drinks cold. The only negative would be when drinking it sounds like goose honking. Kind of annoying. I wear noise canceling headphones but I can tell others hear it

I like this bottle, but it doesn’t fit into my bike bottle cage because it is too long. I have a small bike frame, made for ladies 5’6” and shorter. When I try to insert it, it hits the frame.

Bike water bottles always gross me out because they are always plastic and get that plastic-y taste. So I was SO excited to see that Hydroflask made a water bottle perfect for a bike cage! Fits perfectly in the cage and in your hand. Durable, sturdy, easy to clean, and easy to use. I was worried that not being able to squeeze the bottle would be a big issue. Obviously, it comes out slower because of this but still has a steady enough stream to get enough water in a short amount of time. The push-pull nozzle is a bit stiff to open but easy enough to open with your teeth while riding. As a Hydroflask, this thing does the job of keeping water cold, another bane of typical bike water bottles that get warm quickly. I put in half a cup of ice (just enough to cool the water) and it was still cool 24 hours later. Perfection. A game changer for cyclists!

The Hyrdro Flask 20 ounce Wide Mouth Insulated Sport Bottle is a high quality product with great features. Starting at the bottom - the coating on the lower surface and sides provides a soft surface that is easy to hold without slipping through wet hands and will not scratch whatever you put it down on. The stainless steel interior of the bottle is easy to clean well and I expect it will not hold onto odors of drinks. The wide mouth allows you to put in large ice cubes into the container to keep drinks very cold for an entire day. The sport bottle lid is easy to clean (dishwasher safe), does not leak under normal usage when sealed, and allows you to drink fluid with very little suction when the mouthpiece is pulled open. So lots of great features here. The air vent in the top has to allow air into the bottle when you drink it because the volume of the container isn’t changing as you drink the liquid. So it will make a little noise as air gets in, that’s just physics principles at work. If you aren’t chugging half a bottle at a time it’s not that loud and really not as big a deal as other reviewers have commented. But I also have to add a few concerns. This bottle is much heavier and costlier than a typical plastic water bottle I would take on a bike ride. Also, I don’t think the soft outer coating would hold up well in my water bottle cage. In addition, the vent hole does allow liquid to escape when the bottle is shaken. So for these reasons, I wouldn’t take it with me on a bike ride, which is mostly what I use a water bottle for. Still, it’s a great product for taking to the gym, on a hike, or any other activity where it isn’t being shaken too much. For these purposes, I highly recommend this water bottle.

I wanted to like this bottle but it is just too hard to drink from. The flow is not as advertised. Also I find it makes strange noises when you drink. My wife said it sounds like a turkey call. It's too awkward to ride with so am going to stick with my old stainless steel bike bottle which I have been riding with for over a year. The mouth lid opens fully when you press the release so I get a sufficient amount of water.

So I’ve been using this bottle for a few days now and I think I can boil my review down to a few basic points: First, the bottom is a softer plastic that seems very durable but keeps the bottle from clanking loudly when putting it down on a hard surface. I personally love this feature and it’s one of my favorite things about this bottle. The ring around the middle is also very nice/ergonomic. Second, it does not stay that cold compared like something like a Yeti, but it’s also not gigantic like my Yeti bottle and I’m liking the convenience of smaller form factor for 20oz. The insulation isn’t that bad; liquids still stay cold and it’s definitely better than my Swell bottle, but I don’t think it’s anything special. Finally, I kind of hate the sports cap. Not because it’s a sports cap - I like the convenience of it - but rather because it gobbles like a turkey from escaping air every time I drink from it any more than taking a sip. Upon inspecting the cap I believe it’s related to the watertight gasket and I really don’t think the design could be improved that much. It’s sort of just a fact of using this cap, and most bottles with sports caps in my experience have made some noise (though not quite as obnoxious as this). For everyday use, the noise made by the cap while drinking has been a bit of a bummer, where everything else seems great. Definitely will prefer this on hikes and it does fit in my bike’s water bottle holder without flying out thanks to the rubberized bottom half.
