Ideal for walking through wet grass or fields as well as walking in wet conditions in the city. Pull-on design. Adjustable buckled strap at back of shaft. Signature Hunter logo on the front. Nylon lining dries quickly. Cushioned footbed with multilayered sponge insole. Rubber sole. This style mirrors the iconic Original Tall with the addition of an expandable gusset at the back. This is perfect for a wider calf, these classic boots offer ease of movement and adjust from the traditional tailored Hunter fit to a more relaxed shape when the gusset is fully extended. Handcrafted from natural rubber, the Original Adjustable boot is fully waterproof. Circumference measurements: 15 inches and fully extended 17.5 inches.

Based on reading a whole lot of reviews I sized down from my 9.5 sneaker size to 9 (because I have sandals and ballet flats in 9). These boots do fit me, and go on pretty easily... But I need to sit down and work to get them back off. They have gotten a little better than when I first got them. I don't know if sizing up is better...I decided to stick with this size and see how it goes. They are flattering. I'm about 5' 7" and the boot height is nice. The back expansion is good and I still didn't get snow down my boots on those days so win-win. ... show more

Ok this was my 3rd style and 4th size I ordered and I FINALLY hit the jackpot with these. The regular tall boots did not fit on my calf so I returned them and ordered them in Wide. Those ones came and the ankle part of the boot was huge and the calf still didn’t fit. So I returned those and ordered these ones based on reviews. They FINALLY fit and are super comfortable. I don’t think I have massive calves so it’s a bummer that the regular ones are so tight - even my really thin friends find them to be snug. So these are a great option if the regular ones don’t fit. AND they’re like $35 cheaper on here. I normally wear an 8.5-9 and I first ordered the 8 because I thought they’d run large. I’m not a wide calf yet I am not a small calf. I’m normally 6 1/2 but will do 7 in boots for room for thick socks. I previously bought the original side buckle version, and it fit well in the foot but very snug in the calf. I wanted to wear hunter boot socks(they resemble holiday stockings!) so I also bought the rear adjustable buckle, and it’s perfect! Now I have a set and rotating them with my wardrobe needs will ensure a long life of each set. I will also say, they are of true and high quality. My feet aren’t sore at the end of a day so the arch support must be adequate! These are tall so if your calves are shorter than average, you might have an issue. I decided to order a size down based on the mixed reviews but I should've followed the chart this time. My specs: 17 inch calf (yep, measured just for you), I wear size 7 1/2 in Michael Kors Slip-on sneakers and G by Guess sneakers, and I wear size 8 in Jessica Simpson and Christian Siriano heels. I purchased the boots in a size US 7/EU 38/UK 5 in the matte black color. The boots are extremely difficult to take off if your legs/calves are as thick as mine, and after taking them off I had a minor sensation that I still had them on. Disclaimer: I did order a size down, fearful they ran large, so if I had the recommended size 8 I may not have these issues. Now, these rain boots are nothing short of spectacular from my initial observation. I've ordered and returned supposed wide-calf friendly rain boots by Joules and DKSUKO and they were fails compared to Hunter in overall fit. Even a size down, the Hunter boots fit comfortably with a thin sock on, and would be tolerable if I had to keep the size 7. The shaft, ankle and toe box fit perfectly snug without being stifling. FINALLY, a wide-calf boot that fits my thick calves!!! The style is flattering and ideal for a large calf, with room to spread about 2 to 3 more inches, if larger than 17inches. The matte black is beautiful and looks exactly as pictured. The boots feel sturdy but not clunky and have great bend in the ankle. This is an initial review so I can't speak on durability of the material, but we are in hurricane season here in South Florida till November so I'll get to test the material in the elements. I plan to order the size 8 and compare the fit to the 7. Pleasantly surprised! ... show more

My first pair of Hunter boots! Got the matte black with the adjustable back. They are authentic and great quality. I was concerned about the size. I read all of the reviews. I am in-between an 8.5 and a 9. I have a wider foot and a high arch/ instep. I decided to go down to the 8. Based on other reviews, I was afraid the 9 would be too big, heavy, clunky or make my feet look big. The 8 fits with just a tiny bit of room in the toe, snug with thick socks. They are also snug across the top of my foot because of my high arch. I am keeping them because I’m going out of town this week but I think I may have preferred the 9. I would say if you are in between a half and a whole size like me, go up to the whole size to allow for thick socks and comfort. Hope this helps. These are beautiful and worth the price.
